Receptionist
In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:
The role that I’m applying for is a receptionist. I comprehend I have to greet. For example, “ Good Morning! How are you this morning? Hope all is well. Anything I can assist you with?”
I also know I have to help students with questions and hopefully have an answer that can fulfill that question. Example. “Where is the Library? Well if you head to the left, Up the stairway til the third floor. Once on the third floor, head straight a couple steps and on the left side should be the library! If you are still lost, come back to me and either I or another school staff shall guide you!”
Another responsibility that a reception may hold is having Student records. Maintaining information about the students. Another responsibility is to hold conference meetings, whether it is for staff, students, or guardians of students who would like a conference with a teacher or professor.
Another possible responsibility could be sorting staff. By that, it is organizing files, projects, information, events and any other possible intel or print.
What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:
Plenty of experiences in different platforms.
To begin , I’ve been role playing since 2016. All started in blockman (a minecraft multiplayer app for pocket ed.) Leading to Amino. If you know how big roleplay communities were then, with all the wikis, backgrounds, characters, etc. From there I went to roblox. Yes, a cringe part in my roleplay history but some times. Of course, roleplay in roblox majority was animal survival, hospital, school, family and warrior cats. And now from the past 6 years, I’ve been Roleplaying in SRP! Hooray! The most detailed roleplay I've done was working in EMS SRP. As a job experience of course. So I understand the struggle, frustration, challenges and patience that come with adapting and expectations to a specific role.
Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:
I’ve been playing SRP for 6 years now. Any other job role I’ve been in was a Doctor. I’m ready to experience something new and outta that role. I need to open my circle to experiences that I haven't experienced yet! I need to not surround myself in a circle of similar roleplay and be open to other opportunities. Whether I struggle in them or love the role. This is my reasoning. And always have been.

Situations
/me Poet takes a deep breath. Feeling overwhelmed but maintaining her composure. Look down at the student maintaining a smile. “Alright. Let us take a breather.” she spoke calmly, having a radio on hand. “First, I need you to contain your words. You're in a school, and there are rules and behavior we need to maintain.” Spoke strongly. Her actions stood strong, unwavering. She will handle this situation accordingly, even if the student does not cooperate. These were her motivating thoughts to maintain strength. “ Second, I need you to explain why and what is causing this behavior. In an understandable and appropriate wording.” Reminding the student to be aware of what they say next. She listens, as she nods. If noticing the student is still heated or angry, Poet clapped her hands. This to grab student attention, suggesting breathing exercises. When noticing more relaxed, and calm actions towards students, Poet discussed the issue, and tried to resolve to the best of her ability.
/me Noticing this scenario, Poet would yell the first warning to mind “ I shall warn once! Disbanding this physical contact will involve a SLT Report!. In your best interest to discontinue this Now..” she Yelled, Not wanting to be physically injured unless is absolutely needed. Noticing signs of disbanding, she quickly steps in between the two students. “ State your case! None are saved from already earning detention, but I would appreciate everyone's side of the story.” Of course in these situations, students may correct others. Claiming they are incorrect. In this situation, Poet makes sure each student is pulled aside. For anything to be resolved, Poet had to maintain calm and work with the students. Taking time and patience, placing each piece of information into the full story. Until the conclusion was reasonable and adds up til now. Once all is settled, students are given detention. And final warning. For any other situation. Depending on circumstances.
/me Poet has a goofy and calm atmosphere. On breaks and lunch, she tends to have delicious meals, scroll through the phone or plan for any work or advance on work.
Poet leaning on the counter. Scrolling through the phone, humming a tune. Had the kettle on heat, waiting for the squeal of it being ready to be served. Bobbing her to that little tune, in sync to the song stuck in her head. Finally hear the squeal of the kettle breaking her rhythm! “ Oh the water is ready!” Said quite chipperly! Grabbing a piece of cloth to grab the kettle. Of course she doesn't want her hands burnt, who wants that! Pouring the water into a mug, placing the kettle back on the stove. Still bobbing her head, setting a tea bag in a mug! Lemon grass tea? How yummy does that sound! And with honey? Even more delicious! Having her tea prepared, she finally took a seat, scrolling through some documents. Work? An event? Possibly organizing information? Whatever she was viewing on that screen, she was happy as she was drinking her tea.

Katherine ‘Kai’ Faye Poet.
To begin, Kai lived in Iceland all her life. Her household was strict, demanding and lacked individual freedom. Everything by the book. At age 3 her grandparents ruled the household. Educated her in manners, information, GED, and even skills that would not be common at this time in day. For example hunting, camping, horse back riding. Her grandparents are old fashion folks. Kai growing up, this lifestyle started to bug her, questioning if these decisions were for her own good, or if she was just following what she was being told. Age 10 - 15, took the time to prepare. To prepare for her escape, tired of her living situation, she ran from home to a distant school. Where she found freedom and free will. And a friend that appeared to have behavior similar to home. Probably what she found comforting from them. But also teasing them quite a bit. She is a goof. Fast Forward, she graduated high school, attending community college, majoring in Business Administration & Administrative Assistant. Also in her studies, learned public speaking, diplomas for proper use of documents and typing, and Psychology. Interesting, why psychology? How does it apply towards studies?When your career involves interaction and communication, a good skill to learn is human behavior management. Psychology provides that, and emotional intelligence along with communication dynamics. Essentials for any common job for front desk, medical office, and any office work. Of course, having these skills and knowledge meant working multiple jobs, office at a warehouse, at the post office and accounting. What they all have in common are memorizing, organizing and making a habit of work. While studying and doing multiple jobs, Kai Graduates from a bachelors at age 29, and ready for the next step in her career path. Which leads to the present.
Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):
Was comfortably seated with legs crossed. The leg crossing above being jittery. Place her finger upon her chin as she speaks. “ My motive? I believe in hearing students saying Hello or Good Morning Miss. Poet. Just the thought of it lightens my mood.” She had a smile as soon as she mentioned that fact. “ I as a person also like to keep busy, any task big or small, is a minor stepping stone.” Her tone was smooth, with a hint of energy. She continued. “I enjoy the challenges, though I may not be perfect, I shall cause mistakes, learn from them and gain experience. I confront the issues right in front of me!” She talks so strongly not realizing she side tracked a bit! “Uhm!” Clear her throat, embarrassed. “ Excuse me! I steered away from the main question!” Apologized with a continuous grin.
“Hmmm-“ hearing the wheels in her head turning. “ My answer would have to be, my reasoning for joining, would be I want to enjoy my job. I want to be that one person who’s excited to get outta bed, just to be present at work.” She laughed after a sudden silly thought. “You could say, I'm a workalcoholic” maintained that grin till the end of questioning.
Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
Poet had a thinking expression. Didn’t settle right hearing accepted over others. “Well, I bring positive vibes even to the most upsetting situations! I’m the type of person who settles into their task and gets it done!” nods her head with this chippering smile, agreeing with herself! “I’m tentative, always on my toes! And will always attempt to level the students!” She calms her tone while still holding that smile, and has softened. “Back to the original question” she spoke more sincerely. “I’m a person with qualities that others might have more trouble achieving. I maintain a professional appearance even with my upbeat personality.” Took a slight pause. “Though I may have similar qualities as the majority of other individuals trying out for the position, I’m one of a few striving to achieve great accomplishments.” lightly bow her head as she finishes her statement. Still appearing upbeat after such a professional-like answer.
