/*You may add your own questions to the format*/

What shop are you applying for?:

It took quite a lot of consideration on what type of shop I wanted to create, and which location I felt I wished to apply for, but I think I’ve settled on Rotasu Music. While I know this is primarily a music shop, I was hoping to add onto it and make it have something else to draw attention closer to it. Though that is something I feel should be explained in another question below.

Why do you want to become a Shopkeeper?:

Well, truth be told a large part of it is for the money.Though I feel anyone said that wasn’t the case they’d be lying. However that isn’t the only reason, I’ve considered being a Shopkeeper for quite a long time, dating back a couple years in full honesty. I just didn’t have much confidence that I’d be able to pull it off and properly run a shop, not to mention I was still heavily involved in other sides of the server and had no intention of leaving them at that time.
I’ve decided on trying new things and committing to them, and Shopkeeper is one of said things I want to put my effort towards, especially since my shop Idea not only will provide special and extremely cool items but also because I feel that my shop would bring about a very decent amount of roleplay! With the idea that I have planned I think it could work rather well, especially with this shop location in particular, the space provided could allow me to execute this plan smoothly.

My primary reason though is because this shop Idea also aligns well with a character I will end up making specifically for this shop, given not only his backstory but his ambition as well as profession, a music shop would fit extremely well. Anyway, I’d rather save that portion for the actual part to explain what my shop is!

Do you intend on changing the name?:
Yes I do! To ‘Off Tempo’

What do you plan to do with your shop, and what makes it unique?:

I’ve been hyping this up for quite a bit in the previous questions, so allow me to finally answer the question you’ve all been waiting for!

The shop I intend on running is not just a music shop, but a piercing/tattoo parlor as well, inspired by my recent heavy involvement with musicRP, but also lore for the character that would run this shop, by the name of ‘Eto’. A young man with an unwavering dream to spread his ideals and artistic individuality not just throughout Karakura but eventually the entire Island and country of Japan.

The Music Shop

‘What's that sound?’

‘Music dear, the audible representation of the soul, the heart, and mind, having a conversation.’

Of course, the primary focus of this entire shop is music! So with a wide range of instruments on display, Eto has already made sure there's something for everyone! The entire bottom floor is completely decked out in not only instruments but posters, and murals each specifically hand picked and painted by your’s truly. With bands on the up and up in Karakura, this shop is the perfect place for you, yes you! To begin your journey to fame by purchasing your very own instrument, grabbing your best friends and starting that band you all talked about at the age of 10 when the first episode of Big Time Rush aired. So come on by, defy your parents wishes to be a surgeon or something like that and buy that guitar your grandma secretly gave you the money for!

· · ─ ·· ─ · ·
Tattoo and Piercing Studio
‘Ink and Piercings are just a way that people choose what parts of themselves they want the world to see.’

But wait! There's more! That's right, there’s MORE. You didn’t really think this was just a music shop now did you? Of course not, why would you ever assume such a thing. Upon going upstairs and seeing the second floor, you’d immediately be met with an entirely different atmosphere, murals, paintings, posters, and displays of different piercings, with a room at the far back that housed two tables and chairs. If you want to BE a rockstar, you have to look the part so step inside and get that tattoo you’ll end up regretting by the time you’re in your 50’s or get that piercing you didn’t fully think through.

The two floors within this shop work complete opposites but complimented each other perfectly, the base floor being purely for music, and the top being an entire studio for tattoo and piercing artists alike. This shop has been a long time dream of Eto’s ever since he was a child.

Top_Floor_-_Collage (1).png

For the piercing portion, there would be specific actions each employee would be required to have, of course after being asked for a specific piercing, they’d then do an action to implant the piercing on said player, after being paid they’d then give them the actual item thus completing the actual shop transaction! Not to mention, as i stated before there would be booths at the very back, where the customers would line up and enter, sitting on either table and getting their piercing done! This is optional but if the customer and employee chooses they could also meet up ICLY for their own roleplay for tattoos!

Discord Server
As well as a discord server being made for the shop itself, allowing for people to place online orders, and a section specifically for tailors that specialize in tattoos, giving the shop and SRP its own tattoo parlor! However the tattoo portion would be somewhat separate from the actual shop, all profits made from tattoos are the tailors entirely, I am merely providing them a specific place and building to perfect their
craft and make a name for themselves.

‘TURN UP THE VOLUME, THIS IS A FUNERAL FOR THE LIVING!’

Flyers appear first, a simple, almost easy to miss. Matte paper, black ink, and nothing flashy. Just a time, a place, and a line that sticks with people longer than expected:

‘Karakura’s Got Talent, Show the town what you’re made of.’

That’s right, Karakura is having its very own Karkura’s Got Talent, being open to any and everyone. Being a community driven performance event organized and funded by Off Tempo, designed to give anyone in town a chance to step forward and show what they’re capable of. This event would take place at the beachfront, the main stage would be set facing the ocean allowing for the backdrop to be the skyline of the setting sun transitioning into night. The lighting of course being kept warm and to a minimum, nothing overly flashy, just enough to highlight the performers while maintaining a calm, and sense of ambiance that reflects Off Tempo’s identity.
Participation would of course be open to anyone willing to put in the time and effort to perform, with the registry being rather simple, a google forum would be made and the only thing you’d need to do is put your IGN, how many people are performing, the band name if there is one and the song being performed! There wouldn’t be any limitations on talent types, music, singing, spoken word, small group acts, anything that allows individuals to express themselves.

This event would run in segments, with there being a plethora of difference performances grouped into each section as the night went on. Between each segment there’d be about 5-10 minute breaks allowing for people to run to food stalls ran by other shops to get food, sell their own items and just enjoy the night. This would not only be a great way for collaborations with other shops but it’d be a nice way to give everyone a small break in between so they can process each performance they saw and not overwhelm them with continuous back to back performances.

There would be a judging table of course consisting of 4 seats, however these four judges will also being taking the crowds reactions and thoughts into consideration! After all, you have to give the people what they want, right?

Off Tempo’s role in this event would be to provide the following:

Sound equipment, amps, microphones, instruments if needed.

Stage setup, lighting

Event organization and scheduling

A space for sign-ups and promotion beforehand.

The prizes for the winning group(s)

With Eto himself remaining mostly behind the scenes but still allowing himself to be contacted and known if needed. His job would be primarily to ensure everything runs smoothly rather than placing himself at the center of attention, as the goal with this event is simple. To give the town a space where people can step forward without expectations and show what they’re made of.

‘A voice doesn’t always need a face to be recognized, it just needs ears willing to listen.’

The second event Idea is more of one that could be focused around Halloween, offering a plethora of different opportunities to make it more for fun for everyone involved, and this idea is none other than the Masked Singer. Everyone’s seen the show, so why not be a part of the show? Karakura’s Masked Singer would be a stylized performance

This will run somewhat similar to the previous event, however it’ll be centered around anonymity, identity, and expression through music rather than the person singing. This event could possibly take place either at the beachfront as well with a far more curated atmosphere set up to match the theme of the event. All performers would be required to have a costume and mask as well as a theme, ranging from simple designs to full on artistic creations. These could be self made or their favorite characters, however Off Tempo will also be providing a few masks for people to use that will come first come first serve.

Like the previous event, this stage would be facing the ocean with moody lighting, cooler tones mixed with soft ambers to create a more surreal, almost detached atmosphere. Spotlights would likely be used sparingly, just to keep performers partially obscured rather than fully illuminated. Sign-ups would run the exact same through a forum and instead of registering under their names, all performers and groups would register under stage-names and aliases. No real names would be announced until every performance is over, allowing for not only the judges but the crowd to guess who the act was.

‘We’ll use the power of friendship!’

Finally, I feel that with the ideas I have planned for this shop, and the rise of music performances ICLY, this could work perfectly for so many different kinds of collaborations not only with just other shops but even school clubs, ICLY businesses and much more. I plan to take this shop as far as I possibly can not just for my own benefit but in hopes I can make it an extremely roleplay based shop.

What will you sell in your shop?:
I plan to sell a variety of items, primarily instruments of course but not just the basics such as guitars and drums. I want to open up a broader range of roleplay for those who already are involved and those who want to get more involved with musicRP, so I plan on getting things such as dj tables! Synthesizers and more, allowing people to fully choose how they want to perform.

However I also intend to sell things such as posters on booth floors, with an additive of paintings on the piercing floor, allowing for it to have more than just piercings to sell, as this entire store is meant to feel like a place where art is the focus and the music give it it’s heartbeat.

Alongside the posters and paintings there will be sketchbooks, you can’t write your next song without a sketchbook, right?

In total I plan to have atleast 20+ items for both the Music store and piercing section as well.

Finally, the piercings, which I intend on buying quite a lot of customs for. Below are two art boards that show more of what I intend to sell.

Instruments_-_Boarrd (1).png
Piercings_-_Board (1).png

How many employees do you plan to have?:
I plan to have around 15-20 workers to ensure I always have two for both floors, each would have a respective role for the floor that they’d work to better fit the roleplay aspect and pertain to their character.
· · ─ ·· ─ · ·
Apprentice/Intern
This would be the starting role for all new employees, starting their apprenticeship and or internship as a body artists, this is where they learn the panel, and prove they are willing to do what it takes to become a professional in their craft! Not to mention they will get around a 15% discount in both the shop and discord!

· · ─ ·· ─ · ·
Cashier/Piercer
This is the next role, after they’ve gotten past the trial week, employees will have officially gained their certification. This is likely the main role that employees will shoot for, they will still be expected to attend openings, just not as many. Not to mention they will get around a 20% discount in both the shop and discord!

· · ─ ·· ─ ·
Musician Manager/Professional Body Artist
This role is typically for those that have become managers in their respective field, allowing for them to train newer employees as well as host their own openings! They will get a 25-30% discount in the shop and discord

· · ─ ·· ─ ·
Co-Owner
This role is primarily for lore and ICLY reasons, and won’t be expected to work much at all but if they choose to, they’d take about 35-40% of what they make however this may be used to assist with restocks here and there if needed

· · ─ ·· ─ ·
Curator
The Curator is just the owner of the shop, the one who remains behind scenes making sure the staff are well taken care of and everything runs smoothly, handling taxes and restocks of course.

Ink among feathers

Eto Kirishima was not born into conflict, he grew into it, slowly, quietly, in ways that were easy to dismiss at first and impossible to ignore later.

Being born under a house that prioritized status, looks, and perfection. Eto entered a world where perfection was expected and every gesture, word, look, and breath carried a weight most would crumble under. From the start, he was surrounded by elegance, however he never quite fit the mold.

As a child, there was nothing outwardly wrong with him. He was well-spoken when prompted, capable of learning, and more than aware of the expectations and responsibilities placed on him as a member of this family. But where his siblings absorbed those expectations and reflected them back with perfect precision, Eto seemed to. .let them pass through him.

More often than not he watched more than he participated in anything.

Family gatherings, formal lessons, even simple day to day routines. He was always present, always attentive and aware, but never fully /there/ in the same way that others were. He mimicked what was required when eyes were on him, bowing at the correct angle to a perfect degree and speaking careful with measured politeness, and maintaining posture when corrected. But the very moment attention shifted, so did he. His shoulders would loosen, his gaze would wander, and whatever version of him had just performed would disappear as though it never existed in the first place.

It didn't take long for the family to notice. At first, it was subtle. A comment here, a correction there. Gentle, calm reminders that he needed to "apply himself," that he had potential he was simply choosing not to use. His siblings, by contrast, always seemed to thrive under that same pressure. They were sharper, more disciplined, more invested in upholding the family's image. Where they sought approval, Eto seemed indifferent to it entirely.

It was this same difference that set him apart.

It wasn't defiance. He never argued, never protested, nor did he openly reject anything he was taught. If told to do something he'd do so without complaint; just well enough to avoid consequence, never well enough to earn praise. It created an uncomfortable tension around him, one that adults struggled to correct. You couldn't punish disobedience that wasn't there. Yet at the same time, you couldn't reward effort that never exceeded the bare minimum.

Because of this, the wind shift slowly, but steadily.

Eto became "lazy."

It was easier to call him that than to ever admit they didn't understand him. It was easier to frame his detachment as a lack of discipline rather than a difference in values. His siblings were the first to pick up on it. Children were always more perceptive in ways that adults often overlook, and they learned where Eto stood in the unspoken hierarchy of the household. He was never the favorite. Nor the most promising, not even the most reliable. Eto was never the one spoken of with pride when guests were present.

He was the one mentioned last; if at all. And still, he never fought it.

If anything, he leaned into that space he'd been given. While his siblings sought to refine themselves into perfect reflections of the Kirishima name, Eto drifted further from it, not in loud or dramatic ways, but through small, intentional choices. He spent more time alone. Developing interests that had no place in the family's traditions. He'd completely stopped trying to /fit/ something he had never felt connected to.

The tattoos came later.

Not all at once, not as some grand act of rebellion, but piece by piece. Each one chosen without announcement, without permission, and without explanation. The first one caused an inadmissible tension. The second, disappointment. By the third, it was clear this wasn't a phase, but simply how he wished to live his life. The shaved side of his head followed the same pattern, subtle at first, then undeniable. By then the shift in how he was perceived was nothing short of complete. Whatever quiet concern breathed was replaced with a more distant kind of judgement. He wasn't just inattentive anymore, he was /embarrassing./

And even then, Eto remained unchanged.

Truth be told, he seemed more at ease the further he drifted from expectation. The irony, though, was beneath everything he was labeled as lazy, indifferent, unmotivated. Yet none of them ever realized what he truly carried. /Ambition./

Not the kind his family valued. Not status, not reputation, not legacy. His ambition was much quieter, more personal, and far more stubborn. While most worked to preserve what already existed, Eto found himself drawn to creating something of his own.

A tattoo and piercing parlor, with a desire for Music as well

It wasn't a fleeting thought. It wasn't a rebellion disguised as a dream. It was something he returned to rather consistently, something he observed, studied, and built in his own way over time. The same eyes that seemed disinterested in tradition were sharp when it came to people, their expressions, their very identities, the things they chose to mark on themselves and why. Where his family saw disgrace in ink, Eto saw intention and desire. Where they saw deviation, Eto saw individuality, and for the first time in his life, something held his attention completely.

He never announced his goal loudly. He didn't seek to frame it as something to prove others wrong. If anything, he spoke of it the same way he spoke of everything else, calm, almost detached, as if it didn't need validation to exist. However it was there, steady and unshaken. Eto may have been seen as the least driven among his siblings, the one who failed to meet expectations, the one who didn't quite belong. The truth of the matter is that he was the only one who had chosen a path that wasn't already laid out for him. And unlike everything else in his life, that was something he had zero intention of letting go.

And in every tattoo he chooses, every line shaved, or left long, every piece of jewelry or mark he added to his appearance, and guitar tuned, was Eto's way of expressing his own understanding of beauty. A beauty he shaped all by himself, outside of anyone else's expectations.
