Highschool Council Application

by philbertman42 (otherwise known as Alimonino, bald_eagle1776)

I am currently having trouble logging in with the applied account, "philbertman42," causing low server activity. If I am to be accepted onto the council prior to these issues being resolved, I will take the role on "bald_eagle1776."

IGN: philbertman42

Previous Infractions: Spanning over the few years I’ve played SchoolRP I have received numerous warnings, primarily for minor infractions (according to moderator and council faction lead, Customable.) The bulk of them are far between, though admittedly I do still receive them occasionally (about one every few odd weeks or so) as a result of my carelessness. For the most part I’ve committed myself to being more cautious, and thus far have faced very few issues. I’ve been banned once for fly hacking by Atakka in 2019, though it was a misconception and was quickly sorted out.

Timezone: CST / GMT-5

Discord: Alimonino#0512

Activity on SchoolRP: Until recently, the bulk of my activity on the server consisted in the development of the character I used as the highschool track-captain; as of right now I am playing as a highschool teacher alongside a now-normal member of the track team, the former of which I have two and a half years of experience with. Because of my experiences with these roles and the knowledge I have acquired from playing them, I am confident in my ability to handle the IC and OOC responsibilities which come with the student councilor role.

Admittedly, I play SRP less often than the average player; between a 40+ hour full time job, hobbies and personal relationships, I often lack either the time or desire to log on. My aim has typically been to be online for a few hours every odd day or so, which I fulfill regularly. In the near future however, I will have more opportunities to be online with more consistency, as I’m about to be on a long vacation; for events, council activities, or just normal roleplay I should be available more regularly.

Are you aware that 15+ days of inactivity without a log will result in removal?: I fully acknowledge that any undocumented period of long-term inactivity will result in my removal from the council. If I am to become inactive at any point, I’ll be sure to properly log it in the #student-inactivity-logs channel within the Academics Discord.

Detailed Council Event Proposal

What is the student council?: The student council is a group of highschool and college student volunteers dedicated to benefitting the school through various means; dealing with student affairs, monitoring the campus during school hours, and holding events are a few of their primary responsibilities. Most notably, councilors enforce the school’s policies and administer punishment towards students who misbehave, whether it be in or outside of classes.

What motivated you to apply for council?: I had previously been a decently active councilor over a long period of time (October 2019 through August 2020), though was ultimately removed for inactivity within the group itself. I have since dedicated myself towards other roles (teaching, athletics) though have recently wanted a change of pace. Notably, one of my favorite aspects of being a teacher is disciplinary roleplay, and doing so from the perspective of a councilor would be a welcome twist.

Are you aware that you’ll need to use creativity and teamwork within the council?: I completely understand the fact that I’ll need to cooperate with other players (both in and outside of the council) while acting as a councilor for the sake of creating events and/or activities for the common playerbase to enjoy.

Notable roles: The three main roles within the council are President, Vice President, and Councilor. The former two’s responsibility is organizing and running the council overall, which includes both managing the normal councilors and preparing materials for meetings and activities. In traditional student councils, there are additional roles such as treasurer, secretary and historian, though I am unsure whether or not SRP features such positions; if such roles do exist, their descriptions aren’t publicly available.

Non-council roles that bear significant purpose to the council include Teachers, Professors, Faculty, and the SLT; the team captains and club leaders are important to a lesser extent as the council has little influence over either party, though both are invaluable when planning and executing large-scale events.

Ayako is patrolling and finds two girls who are verbally harassing each other: Before approaching them over their perceived argument, Ayako would listen in on their conversation to fully understand the complete context behind their mutual harassment; if it seemed they were friends being too rowdy with one another, she wouldn’t give anything but a verbal warning before continuing on her way. If the girls seemed to genuinely be going at one another in a hostile manner however, Ayako would step in with an authoritative presence and attempt to de-escalate their argument; ideally, her goal would be to have the two calm themselves down and simply leave one another alone. If neither party was cooperating and/or were ignoring her, Ayako would issue a series of warnings for both of them, eventually threatening and distributing detentions if they were to continue.

A student refuses to take off their mask and runs away!: Being athletically average, Ayako would most likely struggle keeping pace with and/or catching somebody who decided to run away. She would instead take record of their general appearance and any defining physical features, then share it with any patrolling councilors and/or other faculty members. If she were to recognize the student at a later time that day, she would assign them detention for evasion after confirming their identity.

A councilor is abusing their powers, causing a student to be defensive and scared: Assuming the councilor is undeniably abusing their authority, Ayako would step in to protect the council’s public image. She would first confront the councilor directly, telling them off over their behavior; she would explain that their purpose as councilors was to help students and benefit the school, not force their power down upon the defenseless. After the rogue councilor had been addressed, Ayako would separate herself and the distressed student from them so the two could speak in private. After a brief apology and reassurance that her fellow councilor would be properly dealt with, the girl would take over whatever situation was happening from that point forward, assuming one actually exists.

Ayako misses information during a meeting: Realistically, there would be no way for information to pass Ayako’s radar, save for any external disruption occupying her attention; she takes pride in her diligence in remaining alert and attentive at all times, and would find overwhelming shame in not doing so. In the unlikely event that she did miss any information, Ayako would simply ask a fellow councilor to catch her up to speed, thanking them afterwards.

A faculty member tells you to do something that goes against your training: Ayako, never one to shy away from being authoritative when necessary, would bluntly voice her refusal to follow through with the faculty member’s instruction. She would explain why she rejected their request, promptly suggesting a new plan of action of her own to go through. If the faculty member were to insist on their initial plan of action, Ayako would hold her ground and not comply. Being self-assured and knowledgeable about the school’s policies along with the rules of the council and her own personal values, she would do whatever she herself had suggested, even if it meant doing so without the faculty member’s assistance.

Name: Ayako Kusanagi
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Phone Number: (030)-255-2911

Personality: Ayako Kusanagi is a painfully stiff and uptight “Type-A” who seldom expresses any positive emotion. Never one to stray from a path of fairness and her own idea of moral righteousness, she’s a massive stickler for the rules and a terribly dense stick in the mud. Everything about the girl seemed professional, dull, and robotic; from her voice spoken in absolute monotone, to the excessive politeness of her verbally spoken and physical body languages, and her reluctance to share even an iota of her own personal interests, it’s clear to anyone that Ayako is helplessly awkward to speak with and painfully asocial.

Despite Ayako’s outward demeanor, she is eccentric in her own unique way; she has the tendency to copy the actions and physical behavior of those around her, oftentimes managing to walk, breathe, and even blink in perfect synchronicity with whoever she’s interacting with. If she’s feeling particularly quirky, the girl even mimics subtle speech mannerisms and simple physical gestures, really driving home the fluidity of her odd behavior.

The only occurrence in which Ayako expresses any real emotion is when she is dealing with those who are troublesome, underachievers, or generally anyone who doesn’t live up to her strict standard of a “productive member of society;” Ayako becomes spiteful, malicious and outright toxic when dealing with people she deems to be below herself, typically looking upon them as though they were the human equivalent of a week old maggot-infested corpse of a possum wedged tightly into the corner of a garbage compactor in the unforgiving blaze of a mid-summer heatwave. She just barely manages to upkeep her general persona, though her disdain for the lesser denizens of society manifests itself through her body language and a harsher vocabulary.

Appearance: A young girl of a pure Japanese descent, holding her slender and delicate 4'11 (150cm) body with unyielding confidence. Ayako's heart-shaped face features silken bisque-colored skin clear of imperfection, with her thin, glossy lips and sharp cat-like eyes often curled into an expression of contempt; from a glance, you could sense her overwhelming scorn for most everything around her. She has lustrous charcoal-colored hair that sits just above the shoulders, with her bangs swept neatly to the side.

Ayako's wardrobe consists primarily of classy, professional clothing which reflects her uptight personality. She typically wears a regular school uniform while on campus and changes into some alternative clothing to better match her plans for the evening once school is dismissed. The girl’s casual wear is mostly normal for her age, though is kept mostly plain, simple, and modest.

Picture

What separates you from other applicants?: Compared to your typical high-school student, I believe myself to be more mature, calm, and rational. There is careful consideration behind every decision I take and in the way I present myself, as to better represent any group in which I am a part of. I hold the student council to a very high regard, and would carry out my responsibilities with utmost diligence if I was given the opportunity.

Though it was only temporary, I held the position of highschool track-captain for a short period of time, and have since been assisting the current captain in whichever ways she needs me. Short-lived as it was, my time as captain taught me invaluable skills in team management and event planning which will undoubtedly carry over to my work in the student council.

Why do you want this position?: I desire nothing more than to support my fellow peers; be they my current connections within the council itself or students within the school whom I’ve never met, I take great pleasure in assisting those in need; it fulfills me to do so, to know that I have been a positive influence in somebody’s life, even if only slightly.

Additionally, I would like a position on the student council to gain an additional medium in which I can meet new people; be it through collaboration on large-scale projects, disciplinary action, or simply speaking with students who need an ear, I desire to experience the social aspect of being a student councilor.

What interests you most about the council?: The student council would allow me to serve in a way that is beneficial to both the community and myself; as an extracurricular activity, it is something which appeals to post-secondary academic institutions while also allowing for myself to make connections, gain firsthand leadership experience, and develop both my social and practical skill sets.

What could you contribute to make the school a safe and fun environment?: Upon obtaining a position on the council, I intend to take on an authoritative, disciplinarian position than what is currently required of myself; while fulfilling my current responsibilities as a student, I will diligently seek out those of delinquent nature and enact disciplinary justice as is necessary.

Admittedly, I cannot be perceived as “enjoyable” or “fun.” I understand the relation between fun and engagement in regards to education, though I have never prioritized entertainment within my own learning. As a councilor, my objective will be to enforce the school’s policies while sacrificing as few elements of “enjoyment” as possible.
