Previous bans:

I have one previous ban involving disrespect towards another player in December of 2020 which I take full responsibility for. I have had more than enough time to reflect and grow from my previous actions; I haven’t displayed this type of behavior since then, and do not plan to anytime soon. My ban appeal was denied, and rightfully so. The history on the account I’m applying with (vokaloid) isn’t mine, as it wasn’t originally my account until recently.

Describe your activity on the server:

My activity on SRP is somewhat dependent on my workload with school. Throughout September and October, there shouldn’t be much of a disturbance to my constant activity which currently could range anywhere from 2-5 hours a day. I'm more active on the weekdays during the afternoons and later in the night, and anytime during the day on weekends. In late November, with it being exam season, my activity could possibly alter a bit but I’d make sure to let that be known if it comes to be the case. Other than that, there should not be anything disturbing my activity. Generally, I am an active player across all of my accounts & spend a good amount of my time roleplaying!

Which timezone are you in?

Eastern Standard Timezone (EST)

What is your motivation for applying?:

I’d like to be part of something that requires more of a responsibility, and also adds a different roleplay dynamic than what I am usually used to. Obviously, I could choose any faction that I haven't been in before for a dynamic I'm not used to, but there's many reasons why I'd like to apply for the Police faction specifically. Over the past three and a half years I’ve been involved in the SRP community, most of my roles have been solely those of a citizen. It was never unnatural to witness crime or wrongdoings of the sorts, but I think that having the authority to be on the helping side of these sort of situations would be compelling for me. While I was KPD briefly around two years ago, I unfortunately did not get to explore the faction as much as I wished to at that time. Since then, I’m sure the faction has had developments that I would like to be able to learn about and become more immersed in the roleplay aspect of the faction that I've had a longing interest in. I also enjoy working with other people quite a bit, and the emergency faction requires and exhibits a great deal of teamwork and communication, which has increased it's attraction for me as well. I'd love to be apart of the team and partake as well.

What knowledge do you have of Police Work?

I have a solid general knowledge of most police work. There’s a lot of factors & details that go into making it as smooth as possible, and I’ll try to go over most of them here based on what I know. The only thing I’m not too sure about is any involvement the KPD will have with the Government faction, but I’d be more than willing to learn about that & more if accepted.

TOPIC
KNOWLEDGE
RANKSThe Karakura Police Department is arranged into a system of ranks and two different branches: the main branch & the Detective branch. The higher you climb, the more equipment and authority you earn. Everyone starts out as a Cadet, which is basically a position where newcomers go through informational and physical training for a few weeks. Cadets are closely observed and can't patrol alone. If they make it to taking and passing the evaluation test, they are automatically promoted to Patrol Officer. The name sort of speaks for itself. Officers in this position are now allowed to patrol more freely and make more arrests. After showing the correct qualifications and attitude, a patrol officer could be promoted to Corporal. This is when they are able to start helping with/hosting informational and physical trainings, along with other any other duties an officer may fulfill. The next rank you are able to get promoted to is Sergeant. Sergeants hold more of a responsibility and have to set a good example for those ranked below them. Sergeants might now also have the opportunity to become Lieutenant. Once you reach Corporal or Sergeant, you are able to apply to be a Detective Constable, which is basically a trainee detective. The rank Detective Inspector is able to be earned after passing it the exam, and Detective Chief Inspector (HU) is acquirable after that. With these roles, they are more responsible for deeper investigations & interrogations/questionings. After Chief Inspector is Detective Superintendent (HU). Superintendent is the head of the Detective branch. If you choose to stay with the main branch, then the next rank in the line is Lieutenant (HU). Anyone with this rank is considered a higher-up and they are usually in charge of making sure training is going smoothly for cadets. After Lieutenant comes Captain. Police Captain (HU) is basically the second-in-command in the KPD and assists the Commissioner in making sure everything is being ran smoothly. The Commissioner (HU) is the head of the KPD and has the highest authority. They are able to see over both branches and usually have the final say.
TASKSFor lower ranks such as Cadets or Patrol Officers, they may handle front desk which usually mostly includes taking reports. The KPD are overall responsible for patrolling the city and doing their best to keep the streets clear of criminals or anything that may be an endangerment to the public. If officers come across crime while on patrol or respond to a call and get into a situation where they need to make an arrest, they must follow the procedure to document the inmate and take their mugshots. The arresting officer is responsible for their inmate, and should receive the fine or bail they must pay if given one. Officers must know how to do CCTV in order to gain information on a situation (such as location) and/or collect evidence in order to arrest someone for a crime. There may be instances such as major crimes or raids where officers are required to get into their riot gear as a safety precaution. I'm sure there's a lot more that officers deal with that I didn't include in here, but I expanded to as much as I know and I'd be excited to learn more.
EQUIPMENTA few of the items that all officers are essentially equipped with are a baton, handcuffs, a police radio for use of communication within the force and with EMS, a breathalyzer to calculate someone's Blood Alcohol Content, riot gear, a X26 Taser. Some items such as the Police Badge (Patrol Officer+), Pepper Spray (Corporal+), the crowbar (Corporal+), the Glock-17 (Higher-Ups), and police vehicles are only earned at certain ranks and/or can only be used by Higher-Ups and some Detectives. Sergeants & Detective Constables are able to temporarily rent Glock-17s if need be. While these are the physical in-game items that the force possesses, there's also many items that are Item RP'd. Item roleplay items include a body camera, luminol, flashlights, a first-aid kit, key holder & keys for handcuffs, a baton holder, gloves, and a fingerprint scanner. There are official stats for all of these items that the force and other role-players must acknowledge.

Why is Police important to SchoolRP?

It provides a balance against the GangRP side of the server so that they both check each other out. Crime is mostly always running wild in Karakura, and it would be out of the ordinary for citizens to not have some kind of protection or authority to reach out to. Not only is the KPD significant in aspects of preventing crime and providing a sense of security, but they may also be important during events that take place on the server. For example, how officers escorted the marathon throughout the city to keep everyone on track. Overall, the Police Faction is essential to delivering more realism into the realms of roleplay.

Do you acknowledge that you're subject to being demoted if accepted at any given time?

Yes, I acknowledge this and would accept the decision fairly with no tussle.

Do you acknowledge that by applying for this role, you are agreeing to be 100% dedicated to the Police Officer role?

Yes, I acknowledge this and will prove that I am dedicated through my actions as well. I will to put all of my effort into this role is given the chance.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?

Yes, I acknowledge this.

In-Character (IC) Section

SECTION 1: CHARACTER INFORMATION

Character's Full Name:

Utako Mai

Character's age (if accepted):

28

Character's gender & pronouns:

Utako is female & uses she/her/hers pronouns.

Character's Academic Background
(Grade-12/Bachelors/Masters/PhD):

Utako graduated college with a Bachelor's degree in both Psychology and Criminology.

What languages are you proficient in besides Japanese?

Utako signs JSL pretty well, but isn't well-trained in any other language other than Japanese.

Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?
Utako has quite the slender frame, making her look quite weak at first glance. Contrary to popular belief, she carried quite the vigor. Her face was d****d with long, brown waves extending to her waist that she had been planning to cut soon.. for a few months. She was having a hard time letting it go, for some reason; it could possibly be the fact that they complimented the hazel of her eyes so well, but that was highly unlikely. Going on, Utako was always postured, rarely seen in a slouch. Freckles that almost completely blended into her sun-kissed skin littered across her cheeks, along with a small beauty mark beneath her left eye. She usually wore her clothes neatly, but might leave a tag out every once in a while.

Uta could be described as preserving. No matter how long it took her or how much work she would have to do, she always stays true to herself and seeks to accomplish whatever goals or dreams she has had all of her life. It could be anything as minor as making a habit out of waking up at 6am instead of 7am, or anything as major as ending world hunger. She constantly has a drive to do something that will not only help her to better herself, but also better the environment around her and other people.

How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?

One thing that Utako always has is confidence. In a professional situation, Utako is on top of her stuff and completely serious, despite the easy-going aura she usually exhibits. She makes sure to be completely aware of her surroundings and speaks maturely. She may slip out of this on rare
occasions but always corrects herself with a little slap on the wrist. In casual situations, Utako's more laid-back.

What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?

Utako's top priority are her co-workers! She sees them as a second family and does her best to communicate with them as much as possible. She can adapt to most people, and has no problem working in pairs or with a group.

Do you see yourself as a leader or a follower? Why?

Utako sees herself as either or. She has no issue exhibiting leader-like qualities when needed, but she's also aware that she doesn't always have to be the one leading - or won't always be. She's has the courage every leader needs, along with the ability to be a great listener.

BACKSTORY (100+ words)

Utako was born in the booming, ever-growing city of Tokyo to some of the biggest business owners in the industry of Japan. Utako's parents cherished her dearly, and exhibited this love in pampering. They did have the money for it, and her mother took advantage of this. From the second she was out of the womb, they were like two peas in a pod - attached at the hip. Utako's mother treated her as a doll, whether it be dressing her up or braiding her long waves of hair that she admired so much. Her father was less affectionate, but showed his love through gift-giving. Throughout the beginning of her childhood, they were the picture perfect family. That's what it had looked like to Utako and the rest of the world, at least. In reality, her parent's marriage was crumbling. They were constantly head-to-head, always tearing at each other's throats over the smallest things. They would argue, separate, have some dramatic reunion, and everything was fine again; it was a constant cycle. While it was long overdue, there was a breaking point. Utako's father finally filed for divorce against her mother and left her with custody of Uta when she was around thirteen years old, leaving them to fend for themselves. Her mother lost access to her status and their bank, basically forcing her to build from the ground up, which she did. Her mother used the last of the money to purchase a small studio apartment, and got a job at a manufacturing factory. She worked long days and sometimes even overnight, just to keep them going. These hardships never stopped her from continuing to treat her daughter like a doll, though. No matter what the circumstances were, Uta's mother did her best to keep her happy. When Utakp was approaching seventeen, working on the side & immersed in her studies and nearly ready to start university, something was starting to go horribly wrong. Her mother could no longer hear her, all of a sudden, and refused to speak to her either. Utako had taken her to multiple different doctors and specialists, but none of them could find the cause of this sudden change. So, Uta took it upon herself to teach her mother and herself JSL. It was definitely a tricky process, and she knew she'd probably never perfect it, but it was her best. Utako spent the rest of her high school years living with her aunt; balancing between taking care of her mother who was no longer able to work and her studies. Once she graduated, her aunt swore to take care of her mother while she went away to pursue her dreams and start her own life. Utako had always been interested in the way people think, and why they think they way they do. After doing some research, she decided that Karakura would be the best place for her to explore herself and attend college. She originally had her eyes set on becoming a psychiatrist or some kind of doctor, but had her mind completely flipped once she witnessed the police department in action for the very first time. Something about them had sparked her interest and was drawing her in, and after exploring her interests a bit more, she found her love for criminology. It amazed her how psychology, which she thought was solely medical related, could also be used to solve a murder or find an ulterior motive. Utako dove deeper and deeper into this never-ending hole of information and found herself hooked, and settled on what she was going for after graduation.

SECTION 2: GENERAL KNOWLEDGE

Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?

No, you cannot legally own a pocket knife. If a citizen is found with one, it would result in an arrest for possession of minor illegal weaponry.

Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription

- Lactulose
- Wooden Cane
- Eyepatch
- Paracetamol
- Surgical Mask

If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
I would turn on my body camera in order to provide video evidence to a Higher Up later on and try to verbally ask them to stop. If they ignored me and continued abusing the inmate, I'd physically try to separate them from the inmate. Once they were separated and I checked on the condition of the inmate, I would notify a Higher Up about the situation.

What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?

If my co-worker was being assaulted by more than one person or by someone with a weapon, I would immediately use my radio to call for back-up. Depending on the condition of my co-worker, I would also ask EMS to send someone for assistance. I would do my best to separate the criminal from my co-worker and immediately detain and arrest them.

What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?

I would gather sufficient evidence of this before simply making an accusation and presenting it to a Higher Up, just to ensure that action could be taken as soon as possible without any delays or setbacks.

How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?
I would immediately give them with a fine for bribery. I'm impossible to persuade.
