Holy Bible
Sr. Keating is NEVER seen without her trusty Bible.Though, more often than not she simply pretends to read it to inconspicuously eavesdrop on people.
Miraculous Medal
A special medal with a cameo of the Virgin Mary prominently featured upon it. This medal is worn or held by Sr. Keating from time to time. She is not alone in wearing it. Others in Karakura employ the medal either as a symbol of Marian devotion and protection or to have sinister Yōkai reveal their true nature.
During her time in Karakura, she has heard stories of these medals appearing in sacred places, causing sinister spirits to become distressed or target the wearer, and warding off ‘diabolic’ whispers. She has stories of her own, due to her involvement with the Occult Club.
Butterfly Rosary
A special rosary, unique to Teresa’s sect. Routinely employed as part of her religious life. Although, she often uses it during periods of emotional distress or to ward off perceived demonic activity, sifting through the beads at an alarming pace. The beads are made out of pewter crystals depicting butterflies.Smartphone "Marian"
A smartphone with a depiction of the Virgin Mary on the back, and of Jesus Christ on the front as the wallpaper. A blue butterfly appears to be perched on the top of the phone. Probably plastic. Probably.
Silver Crucifix
A highly sentimental piece of jewellery worn by Sr. Keating. She is seldom ever seen without this item and a black briefcase. Teresa was given the crucifix and accompanying silver chain upon beginning her novitiate within the 'Discipuli Lux Divina' sect. It is practically an appendage, a part of her.

Biography/Background
♱ Birth
On the 4th of April 2005, Teresa Keating entered this world on a bright cold day in Karakura, Japan, as the clocks were striking thirteen. Her birth marked a singular chapter in the tapestry of her family's history. Her father was 35 years old at the time of her birth; a British tourist who had ventured into Karakura and found himself deeply enamored by Teresa's mother, a graceful 66-year-old woman with an impressive property portfolio.Teresa's father had cultivated strong bonds within Karakura's small Catholic community since his arrival, and when Teresa graced the world with her presence, the news spread as though it were some extraordinary revelation. Some in the community facetiously dubbed her birth a ‘miracle’ adding a touch of scandal to their astonishment given the broader Karakura populace was not particularly receptive to brazen claims of miracles.
♱ Early Childhood
The tapestry of Teresa’s upbringing was woven with threads of her dual heritage. Her father, a British expatriate and distinguished Barrister, ensured that she imbibed the essence of her British roots, bestowing upon her a profound appreciation for English literature, music, traditions, and, most notably, jurisprudence. His aspirations for Teresa originally centered around a career in Karakura's legal profession, but it would seem Providence had other plans.A poignant moment in Teresa's life came when she was only 11 summers, and involved the expected passing of her aged mother. The loss was followed by an increase in Church visits. The boost in visitations was the direct result of Teresa’s father who was seeking to mend the void in her heart. His efforts were not in vain: The Church became her sanctuary, and it was amidst its hallowed halls that she crossed paths with religious sisters visiting Karakura as tourists. Their temporary presence seemed to reveal a path Teresa never knew existed; the solace of consecrated life. She never even considered this as an option due to Karakura's demographics.
The pursuit of this path, however, was not seriously considered due to the demands of Teresa’s early homeschooling. Those days emerged as some of the most blissful moments in her life, as she thrived in an environment teeming with erudite mentors.
♱ Teenage Years - Entering Karakura High
At the age of 13, she embarked on her journey into Karakura High. There the stark realities of the world left her disconcerted. The pervasive presence of violence, murmurs of an underground ‘fight club’, and rampant discord at the school caught her all by surprise. These discoveries, coupled with Teresa’s propensity to rectify her teachers at the faintest misstep posed challenges to forging meaningful relationships. Notwithstanding these difficulties, she retained a small circle of friends, most of whom shared her unwavering faith in Christ.A profound transformation took root within Teresa as the years passed by. She would work on her hubris and begin forming meaningful friendships. The echoes of judgment gave way to a newfound humility. Detractors persisted, accusing her of being an overly sanctimonious 'holier-than-thou' fraud. But as her final year of High School commenced, she astonished many by appearing in the attire of a novitiate; eventually donning the complete habit and garb of a religious sister.
“Since I came to this school… a growing feeling kept gnawing away,
something inside me! I wanted to give something that is mine and mine alone.”
Shortly upon beginning her novitiate in the Discipuli Lux Divina sect, it was decided by senior leadership within the sect that ‘the period of her novitiate should be dramatically reduced’ because of her ‘unwavering faith in Christ and obvious propensity to show absolute fidelity to the final vows taken by our religious sisters’.
Teresa’s tone underwent a profound metamorphosis after she took these vows. Where once stood a judgmental snob, there now stood a lone figure: sincere and austere, harboring compassion and humility. There were naturally some who felt this transformation was artificial and continued to belittle her.
♱ Present
This extraordinary transformation continues to captivate many. However, it also unsettles skeptics uncertain whether any internal change has occurred; particularly because of her very short novitiate that she is very reluctant to talk about. Teresa is presently committed to living out the teachings of her faith and building bridges of friendship and solidarity with her peers. She is not alone in this task and has been joined by other sisters in her sect, albeit ones that have not taken final vows as she has.During Teresa's time in the Occult Club, she spearheaded an investigation into a 'missing statue of the Virgin Mary'. During a remodeling of the Karakura Church interior, an attic, containing a 'second' statue of Mary, distinct from the one out the front of the Church that remains to this day... went missing!
This caused her significant distress due to her tendency to go up into this attic to make prayers for intercession, and due to the sentiment by some from the Archdiocese that there was a 'presence' in this attic. AND SO, a meeting was had, questions were asked ... until eventually, an incident happened.
Though not involved in the incident herself, it was reported by several officers of the KPD and some civilians that they all saw a statue of the Virgin Mary spring to life in the abandoned Masamaru station. Fire was conjured in the vicinity, causing some officers to sustain severe burns.
Teresa immediately interpreted the reports as 'firsthand accounts of miracles' and subscribes to the theory that the 'miracle' is Our Lady of Sorrows interceding on our behalf to protect the people of Karakura from malevolent Yōkai plaguing the station. Though she has absolutely zero evidence for this theory, she points to 'a recent intrusion into the Church by one such Yōkai', that penetrated the walls of the Karakura Church, seized a shrine maiden by the throat, and fled. It is Teresa's ardent belief that the statue springing to life is 'clearly a precaution of miraculous origin' to prevent 'further intrusions' into a sacred space and to 'protect the people of Karakura'.
Incidentally, after this incident, a room was discovered beneath the Karakura Church's lectern, containing a small room with... a statue of the Virgin Mary. It is unclear where it came from, if it was the same one that 'went missing', or how such a heavy object made it down there into such a narrow space: but, since the incident, Teresa has been one of a great many members of the community flocking down into this room to leave written prayers in the stray barrels around the statue:

Under your mantle, we find refuge, O Blessed Mother.
Protect us from the shadows that seek to harm,
and guide us ever closer to the light of your Son.
Help us be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
MEDICAL HISTORY
Teresa is generally healthy, but her medical history as a whole has identifiable patterns:- Sprains and Bruising: Ostensibly from refusing to acquiesce to aggressors, especially when asked to overlook violence against her peers. She has been spotted on more than one occasion fervently praying near scenes of grotesque violence and conflict.
- Drowsiness/Sleep Deprivation/Exhaustion: Teresa seems to have issues sleeping due to her strict routine of prayer which she has to balance with her education and, on top of that, additional education in theology that she feels the need to ‘get ahead on’ as a result of her short novitiate. She has a productive relationship with friends and doctors who often encourage her to remain well-rested and engage in self-care.
PERSONALITY / PERSONAL LIFE
Benevolence and friendliness typify Teresa almost all the time. She actively enjoys meeting strangers and does her best to be as inviting as possible notwithstanding her somewhat alienating appearance and propensity to be rather nosy.
She has an aversion to the bad-mannered, willfully ignorant, and elitist members of society; particularly when they are older than her and ‘should know better’. Teresa dedicates her life to the underprivileged members of Karakura, including the imprisoned, sick, and homeless. She has always treated them with kindness, so the treatment of the young as a scourge and the callousness often shown to strangers “rendered invisible in an instant” appears to her as a grave offense.
Teresa’s private life, by contrast, is one of contemplative prayer and solitude; enriching herself in the mysteries of her Order. Of course, she has regular hobbies like any other teenager; singing, writing, and drawing among others. However, even these sometimes overlap with her religious life. She is an avid reader of the news, but often finds herself providing a healthy amount of insightful critique based on this exercise; with ‘Bible in one hand, and Newspaper in the other’ as is common among religious sisters across numerous Christian denominations.
Teresa's understandable willingness to protect others does often get her into trouble because of her deep naivete and propensity to see the good in everyone. Her involvement in urban exploration groups and the Occult Club have arguably only increased her likelihood of being harmed.
“Nobody is beyond redemption; what’s important is what we choose to do after such shameful moments of weakness where we forget ourselves”
The ‘trouble’ she is prone to get involved in often results in some degree of physical harm or being judged for involving herself in dangerous situations at all. Teresa vehemently rebukes such critics, each and all, because “surely” those who have been deemed lost by society are not beyond the capacity for love and forgiveness:
“Our sewers are a sanctuary for the lost, but anyone who says they are beyond the reach of love and forgiveness is wrong. Their punishment by Karakura’s courts is one thing, but we should still have faith in them!
Weaknesses/Vices
Compliment Fisher
Adores the naturally flirtatious, and any who would offer her a compliment. If you're not 100% willing to face some risk on her behalf then you are not considered by her to be the best sort of company.Incapable of Wrong
Teresa rarely takes accountability for her actions, too often falling into the habit of genuinely believing she is incapable of moral error, particularly when involved in arguments. She will often perform mental gymnastics to justify her misbehavior. Reckless Naivete
As a consequence of her upbringing, she adamantly believes in the inherent goodness of people and has an intense desire to nurture the potential for goodness within others, guided by an innocent (but often mistaken and misplaced) belief in their inherent virtue and intentions.

Mei Miura
A fellow member of the Occult Club. The pair are openly fond of one another, but her fixation on him has been observed by others to be a tad excessive.
Harry K ShimaA fellow member of the Occult Club. One of Teresa's closest friends with whom she confides almost everything. Harry has notably confided paranormal encounters he has had with her, and provided her certain presents from time to time.
Erik Finster
Leader of the Occult Club. Teresa values his friendship immensely and considers him 'a great friend of the Church'. She finds his erudition to be 'rare' in Karakura, saluting him on-sight now and again; she clearly places a great deal of value on their friendship. She believes he is destined to bring about 'fundamental' political change in Karakura someday, often referring to him affectionately as 'Mr. President'.
Sakura Nakazumi
A fellow member of the Occult Club and a parishoner deeply involved in service with the Archdiocese. Teresa earnestly believes Sakura to be one of the most innocent and blameless figures in Karakura and sees it as her duty to make her time in the town a pleasant one.
Araya. K Chusi
A young lady whom Teresa met as part of her involvement in a certain exploration group she never speaks about. Teresa has helped Araya with her goals, and recovery after a certain traumatic incident, going above and beyond to care more immediately about her dignity than her health; but tending to both as best she could. The two are very close friends.
The Blessed Virgin Mary
A religious figure whom Teresa holds in extremely high regard. Due to Teresa never truly coming to know her birth mother, she often finds a great deal of solace in her rosary, seeking the Blessed Virgin's intercession. In times of personal struggle, Teresa has on rare occasions been discovered in the Karakura Church basement quietly sobbing beside the statue in complete darkness.
A fellow member of the Occult Club and one of Teresa's close friends. The pair often exchange gossip and fashion tips. They enjoy getting up to mischief within reason.
TERESA'S ENEMIES
Listed in order of hatred, with the first listed being 'most reviled'
Abdullah N. Stavropoulos
"A man deserving my contempt given the suspicious amount of time he spends around Mei Miura. He's planning something, I just know it! Especially since I caught him, red-handed, observing my dear Mei SLEEPING in a club room. VERY SUSS. Also, toxic. Super passive-aggressive. I'd be quite overjoyed if I never had to see him again".
[?] ███████████████████
"I have seen what this mongrel is capable of, abducting that pink-haired maiden in the house of God. Through His grace, I hope I never encounter this thing ever again ... it is clearly in league with the Prince of Darkness himself". - Particularly despised due to their hostility towards Mei Miura
[?] 'Satomi Kato'
She has since come to the following enlightened conclusion: "That THING is not of God... also, I... I think that grotty bitch touched my forehead, like, ew? ██████ are toxic".
[?] 'Katsumi'
[HS President] Emma Emerson
HS Council President. Reviled for having the audacity to slam a door in Teresa's face when she was simply visiting the council house after school. Emma seems to look down upon Teresa for voluntarily leaving the council. Since this incident, the pair have been at odds, with the president being dubbed by Sister Keating to be "the most superficial person" she knows.
[HS Cheer Captain] Valentina Cruz
"A trifling bully with no virtue who sometimes wears unimaginative approximations of the attire worn by religious sisters to make up for the fact she is bankrupt of any virtue. She desecrates the Karakura Church and has the gall to call herself 'Queen of Heaven' in the very same Church. Surely she'd be banished from the shrine if she did anything similar there. AND she called me a bitch once. TOXIC"
[HS-Volley-Captain] Kozo Hamasaki
Teresa finds him to be "as sinful as his miserable relative, Kotoro who is no longer with us". She was dragged to the school bathrooms by him and almost swirlied for refusing to admit that she'd thrown a bottle of whiskey at a member of the Cheer-Team. Fortunately, Teresa resisted and beat Kozo unconscious without a scratch, promptly robbing him, hoping to donate his money to charity. She was compelled to return the money later. The pair have never spoken since.
Will Brown [Shopkeeper, 11/7]
Teresa brought 11/7's false advertising to light on social media. They had signs up saying hot dogs cost 1,500 yen and 1,900 if you wanted mustard. When she observed the Family Store used to sell them cheaper... she got kicked out of the store. 11/7 promptly took to Onrain and suggested they NEVER overcharged for their hot dogs. When this lie was pointed out on Onrain, and the fact the shopkeeper had quickly rushed to scrub out the display signs in the store so they read '200 yen' for both hot dogs, this was highlighted by Teresa's employer: the Archdiocese of Karakura. The store owner said of the ordeal it was a bunch of 'yap'. Teresa wants an apology and feels the owner of 11/7 is guilty of the sin of greed and only told her to 'SHUT UP' during her complaints in-store because he did not like being held accountable for false advertising.

Tori Saiky
Deemed by Teresa to be nothing more than a snobby member of an elitist, out-of-touch family. She told Teresa she sold her soul with no hint of irony. Particularly despised due to her hostility towards Mei Miura
[?] 'Satomi Kato'
"Your God can't save you here ... The gods fear me ... Your God wouldn't be able to handle me."
Teresa has had nothing but negative experiences with this ██████, though once simply believed it was a simple girl known to sin and stoke fear. I PRAY I NEVER HAVE TO ENCOUNTER THIS HAUGHTY HOLOGRAM EVER AGAIN. Like, she does all this and expects us to BOW TO HER? NAH, NEVER".
