Describe your activity on the server:
As of recent, I've been on a hiatus. However, my activity is now increasing as I've logged on consistantly the last few days. Typically when I consider myself "active" on SRP, I play just about everyday for at least a few hours.

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
I have great experience with roleplay, having been actively roleplaying on different platforms for around 6 1/2 years now. My journey started out on SRP actually in 2018, however I didn't know what roleplay was or how to really get started. Being a little kid at the time, I mostly just trolled around and made my own fun without actually putting forth effort into roleplay. It wasn't until around late 2018/early 2019 that I actually started trying to roleplay. Since then, I've been roleplaying on and off on SRP, and games like Arma 3 & GTA5. I also experimented a bit with the LOTC minecraft server however that only lasted about a couple months.
What is your motivation for applying?
For quite some time now, I've been wanting to get involved in the hospital faction and spend my time on SRP within the faction. I applied one other time way back in 2021 and was sadly denied. My denial then kind of drew me away from wanting to apply again. However, I have the motivation once again so here we are.
I'd say my biggest reason for wanting to apply to the hospital faction is my love for medical-type roleplay. Throughout my years of roleplay, specifically on GTA roleplay, I've always geared towards being EMS. I don't know exactly why I love this type of roleplay so much but it's something about it that's satisfying to me and in a way more relaxing than basic roleplay. I've just always enjoyed it whenever I got the chance to.
Secondly, coming back from my hiatus the server has gotten to be somewhat repetitive for me just roleplaying as an average highschool student. I believe having the opportunity to try out a new type of roleplay (SRP-wise) would provide me with more fun and challenging "gameplay". I'd really enjoy the chance to experience what SRP has to offer in terms of MedicalRP.
Which role are you applying for?
Psychiatrist
I've chosen this role as it's something within medical roleplay I have little to no experience with and I think it'd be cool to learn more about as I've grown more interested in psychology as of recent.
What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
Director - The big boss person of the hospital faction, overseeing crucial hospital functions, etc.
Head of Departments/Clinic Leads - The big boss person(s) of their own individual departments within the hospital. Ex. Emergency Department, Doctor Department
Attending - An individual who has graduated from Resident and is now able to practice.
Resident - An individual within the hospital faction that is still in training to become an Attending Doctor, Psychiatrist, etc.
Trainee - A "newborn" within the hospital faction, probably awaiting basic training to become a Resident.
This is about as far as my knowledge of the "rank" roles goes, though I'm sure if accepted I'll be quick to learn the functions of each. As we all know, practice makes perfect.
Now for some general roles;
Doctor - A trained professional who is there to help people stay/remain healthy by diagnosing illnesses, recommending some treatments and providing adequate care for their patient's well-being.
Psychiatrist - A doctor who specializes in mental health, with their own unique set of specializations within their specializations. They help individuals manage their mental health by diagnosing, treating, and providing therapy/medication depending on the circumstances.
Surgeon - An individual within the hospital that performs complex operations to treat injuries, disease, or other conditions. They perform surgery to "fix" or remove parts of the body in order to improve an individual's physical health.
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?

Higashi Masahiro was born on September 14th 1996 in Karakura, a coastal town famous for its history and beautiful scenery. His early years were spent with his mother, Noriko, a school librarian and his father, Haruki, a lawyer, both of whom were traditional and disciplinary people. The family lived in a small house in the country, near the forest, which was explored by Masahiro, who was interested in stories about spirits and ghosts.

As a child, Masahiro was shy; he preferred to spend his time reading or walking in the woods. His mother, aware of his tendency to think, took him to the library, and he started to read about people’s lives. The stories of the tragic heroes and the human suffering made Masahiro understand the importance of empathy.

His father, however, had different expectations. Haruki wanted his son to follow the family’s profession in public service, but Masahiro was not the type. Trying to shape him into his own image, Haruki made Masahiro angry and frustrated, and he started to find comfort in helping people, where his father told him to be pragmatic.

Section II - Childhood/Teenage years
Masahiro entered his teenage years with a conflict going on inside of him. Though he appeared to be very relaxed, he was battling with himself regarding his identity and his future. The pressure of his father’s expectations on him was too much to bear, and although Masahiro was a good student, there was something else that interested him. He started to develop an interest in human behaviour and psychology, especially the role of emotions, trauma, and memories in people’s lives.

In high school, Masahiro had a small group of friends, but he was no party animal. He found solace in friendship with Takahashi Riku, another student in his school who was stubborn and sloppy. Riku and Masahiro were complete opposites—where Riku was loud and assured, and Masahiro was quiet and reflective. They were also similar in some way, in a way that didn’t need words. Riku often took Masahiro on adventures – blowing classes, riding in the mountains, and watching movies about the human mind.

Through Riku, he got to know Sato Kanae, a creative and a free-spirited young girl. She brought out the playful side of Masahiro who very few people saw. Kanae and Riku made him feel like he belonged in two different ways, even though the friendships were different.

But one thing was sure; life was not the same for Masahiro after his best friend, Yujiro, who secretly fought depression, died by suicide. Masahiro had no idea how desperate his friend was, and when he died, Masahiro was filled with regret and frustration. This tragedy defined him and made him select psychiatry as a course of study not as an academic discipline but as a call to action to ensure that other people do not suffer the same way Yujiro did. His unresolved guilt determined his desire to assist other people during their time of need.

By 2014, Higashi Masahiro was ready to start college and became a student at Karakura College. He registered for the psychology course to know more about the human mind. He was successful in his academic pursuits, yet he still had no clear idea of what he wanted to do with his life, with his father’s expectations still on his neck. But, Masahiro’s heart was no longer in the traditional careers his father had in mind for him.

In college, he got a chance to meet Kuroda Naomi, another student of psychology who was interested in trauma psychology. Naomi was clever, understanding, and ambitious – all the things that Masahiro appreciated about her. They spent many long hours in discussion and sometimes late at night looking into the newest advances in the****utic methods. It only became awkward when Masahiro wrongly interpreted Naomi’s feelings. He had become smitten, but Naomi did not want to have a relationship with him as anything other than a friend. This made Masahiro have a bitter experience in emotional handling.

Despite having some lonely times, Higashi’s understanding of human psychology helped him to manage relationships better. His last year, he befriended Miyamoto Haruto, a stubborn yet generous student who was interested in cognitive-behavioral therapy. It was through this encounter that Masahiro learned that it was sometimes better to face the truth however harsh it may be as opposed to Haruto who was impulsive.

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?
Forensic Psychology
Higashi chose this speciality specifically out of interest for how the mind of criminals work and why they do the things they do. Higashi has found it rather odd why so many people commit these heinous crimes such as robbery, homicide, etc. He just couldn't wrap his mind around it, this led him to pursue farther into the forensic specialty of psychology. He also experience pressure from his father to pursue a career in law, so it was all the more reason to pursue this field as in his mind it was a way to combine what his father wanted him to do, with what he was actually interested in.
For Higashi, the idea of applying psychology to the justice system just felt like almost the perfect bridge between his curiosity of human behavior and the expectations placed on him by his father. It would provide him a deep sense of purpose, knowing he could contribute to understanding the complexness of crime while also satisfying his father's wishes.
Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
No.
SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?
Higashi has a commanding presence, with a lean and athletic build likely to draw attention wherever he goes. Standing at 5'10, his sharp jawline and intense eyes give him a focused and determined look. His light brown hair, often elegantly styled though retaining a casual look complements his confident, yet approachable appearance.
How does your character act around the hospital?
On-Duty
While on duty, Higashi would maintain the typical professional and mostly confident attitude one would expect from a hospital staff member. He does his best attempt to remain disciplined and focus, showing strong dedication to his employment. While in session with a patient, he displays a somewhat laidback attitude in his way of trying to build trust with his patient although he does retain his quality of being confident and blunt to a certain extent.
Off-Duty
While off duty, Masahiro remains mostly the same as he is off work. Although he is considered a lot more relaxed and displays a "go with the flow" attitude while not on the job. You can mostly find him near the forest, or at the pond with his old fishing pole in hand looking for his next trophy fish.
Does your character function better on their own or with others?
This would mostly depend on the setting he's in, whether he's working with a patient or collaborating with other MH professionals to provide more comprehensive care.
While working with a patient, Higashi has a preference for working alone, although can with some mental pep-talk can work alongside others. His preference is in place due to his "my way or the highway" approach to the way he conducts his sessions with patients. However, he can be proven useful in a group setting while working alongside a client as well.
Now, while collaborating with other professions for the sake of the patient as many psychiatrists do, he is very open-minded about working with others. He will often take advice, or other professional's perspectives into account in order to better assist his patients.
