School Employee Role you are applying for?:
School Nurse

In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:
School nurses play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and health of students in educational settings. They are highly trained healthcare professionals who offer a range of essential health services to both students and staff. These dedicated individuals serve as a bridge between the school community and the broader healthcare system, promoting a safe and healthy learning environment for everyone.
School nurses are not just focused on providing immediate care; they also take a proactive approach to prevent health issues and promote overall well-being within the school community. They work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other healthcare professionals to implement health education programs and campaigns. These programs may cover topics like proper nutrition, physical activity, hygiene, mental health awareness, and disease prevention. By educating students about healthy lifestyle choices, they empower the younger generation to take charge of their well-being and make informed decisions about their health.
School nurses help uphold this mission by treating injuries and sudden illnesses, like colds and flu viruses, and assisting children living with chronic diseases and disabilities, like diabetes, asthma, and autism spectrum disorders.

What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:
I have quite a bit, I’ve played DnD for a while, WoW, SRP of course, Roleplay Universe and some others. I’ve got about 4+ years under my belt and have figured out how to properly adapt my Roleplaying emotes and speech to the person I am interacting with. I've also played some RPG games like' The Witcher, Persona 5, Final fantasy and Arma 3.
My experience with roleplay within SchoolRP is semi limited, though;
On SRP I currently play a student council member and on my main, StrawbeeViniq which ill be replacing as EMS, the account I’m applying for. As for my alt, BlueberryViniq, I ran a Delinquent/gang char and now a professor. So, I’ve gotten some experience in those departments under my belt within the server, both accounts are currently seniors in the Karakura high school.
As for other roleplay experience, in Mazerp where I play as a medjack(medic) where I can do Medical roleplay, and on another server similar to SRP called RoleplayUniverse I play a professor, so I’ve gotten quite a bit of experience through that.
On another, fairly new server I currently play as a firefighter.

Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:
I’d love to join the School Employee Faction as I have had experiences as professor, GangRP, delinquent rp, attempted KPD and EMS a few times and looked through government related Roleplay, though, I tended to overlook the school employee faction, especially nurse because I haven’t been so sure on how they would get paid, and it discouraged me from attempting it. Thus, I finally chose to try out Nurse and figure out a new form of RP as when I was professor, I had to deal with OOC issues and I couldn't continue teaching because I lost motivation to prepare classes. So I hope to join the School Employee Faction to try and possibly have an easier time. I also figured while I await a reply on the Government application, I'd do something productive to enrich my Roleplay experience.

Situations

During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:

Orlain's response is minimal, barely registering beyond a subtle twitch of the eye. If the student offers no further explanation or response, he simply nods and returns to his designated station, resuming his tasks with a sense of purpose. He remains largely indifferent to any idle chatter or superficial remarks directed towards him, only truly attentive when faced with genuine critique or constructive feedback. For Orlain, productivity takes precedence over frivolous distractions, and he channels his energy into meaningful endeavours rather than engaging in idle gossip or superficial exchanges.

You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:
Out of sheer panic, Orlain would make his way over to the two of them. Attempting to get between them and separate them, if it gets out of hand he would radio for other staff so he can grab one student while the other faculty grabs the other to separate them. Pulling them apart for long enough for them to mellow down, and once that happens. If nothing is major he’d wait to make sure both students aren’t harmed, if they are both noticeably harmed. He will keep the other faculty around to make sure they don’t fight again as he tends to their wounds.

Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:
Orlain would make their way over to the school employee, asking them what they are doing and how it is severely dangerous. If the other employee continues to do so, then he will call for SLT to help get a hand on things. If all else fails and it seems as though it can be a danger to the staff themselves or others then EMS or cops would most likely be called for assistance. But, if the employee realised their actions and steps back then Mannix would sit them down and talk with them about what was going on and if there was a way to do it safer or how to help.

When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
Orlain will be fairly reserved, but he will be respectful to those who enter and exit the breakroom. Often leaning against the counter drinking some coffee as he relaxes a bit from how the school day was going, if anyone were to make conversation he would of course engage in the conversation. Respecting those who were there longer than him and older than him out of sheer respect, if his break would end he would respectfully excuse himself and quietly head out of the breakroom to go back to work until the school day is over.

Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst on your chosen role:
/me
Upon entering the nurse’s room, he’d take a decent look around the space to see what will be needed, required, what he should bring more in and of course, where everything is. Getting comfortable in his new surroundings and making sure nothing is missing for the day ahead, getting comfortable at the front desk; he’d take a sip of his coffee.

/me From hearing about the minor concussion from sliding off the banister railing by the stares, he offered a little disapproving sigh. “A-Alright, be careful next time. You were warned it wasn’t safe.. But c-come.” Standing up from his station, making his way over to the mini freezer to grab an ice pack. Ensuring the student has settled down on something soft to sit on, setting the ice back on the area of head injury.

/me On inspecting the injured ankle, he helped settle the female student down on one of the sick beds and elevated her ankle up as carefully as possible and settled it on a few pillows. Grabbing an ice pack he had set it onto his twisted ankle. “Al-Alright, lassy. Just keep that on your ankle for about fifteen, twenty minutes. It’ll r-reduce the swelling quite a bit. I’ll be right back, I-I need to help another student. If your leg feels and looks as though it is swell, please l-let me know right away.”

/me If ankle began to swell, he’d take an elastic bandage and linked it around her ankle securely to reduce swelling, settling a new ice bag on top of it. “A-Any worse and I’ll get you to go to the h-hospital and see if it’s more than just a twisted ankle, alright? If it resumes just being twisted it s-should heal fairly quickly.”

/me Acknowledging the unconscious student, he’d first bring them to the nurses office and lay them upon one of the beds there, setting an ice pack on their head. Dialling 110 encase the injury was too great. He tilted the head back slightly and lifted the chin, to open the airway. From there he’d ensure that their head, neck, and spine are aligned to prevent any further injury, especially if there's a suspicion of a head or neck injury. Once they awoke he’d offer them some water and told them to stay put for a bit.

/me He’d grab a small swab and dipped it into the lid holding disinfectant, ever so carefully cleaning up the students knee and removing any debris. He tries his best to reassure the student they’ll be okay and from there he’d swap from a swab to an antiseptic wipes or saline solution to prevent infection and gently cleanse the wound with . If there is any bleeding, he applies pressure with sterile gauze until it stops. Depending on the severity of the sc****, they may also apply an adhesive bandage or dressing to protect the wound.

Backstory

Early life; Born to 10

He, along with his twin sister Nadine, parents, and grandmother. This was brought up to be a warm and close-knit family. Orlain's father, a dedicated paramedic, was often on the go, rushing to the aid of those in need within Galway. While this meant Orlain didn't get to see his father as often as he wished, it also provided him with unique insights into the world of healthcare. He would watch his father's tireless efforts to save lives and offer care, even taking on the responsibility of ensuring his grandmother's well-being. Orlain's grandmother, a strong matriarch of the family, unfortunately battled cancer during his childhood. This challenging experience had a profound impact on Orlain. He would observe his father's compassion and dedication in caring for his grandmother, which inspired him to consider a career in medicine. As Orlain grew and matured, his desire to follow in his father's footsteps as a medical professional continued to grow. He expressed his dream of becoming a Nurse, motivated by the desire to make a positive impact on people's lives, just as he had seen his father do. Orlain's early experiences shaped his understanding of the significance of healthcare and the sense of purpose it brought to his life. Orlain set on a path that would eventually lead him to pursue a career in medicine.

Teen years; 11 - 17
As Orlain entered his teenage years,
He began to fully appreciate the profound impact of medicine within his family. With his father's selfless work as a paramedic and his father's support for his grandmother during her illness, Orlain recognized the inherent call to medicine that ran in his family's veins. This awareness served as a guiding light for his future aspirations. Orlain's dream of becoming a doctor took a more concrete form. He was determined to follow this path, not only as a tribute to his family's legacy but also as a means of making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Orlain knew that he wanted to be a general practitioner, a doctor who could provide comprehensive care and serve as a primary point of contact for patients' medical needs. Orlain's commitment to his dream translated into academic excellence. He consistently achieved top grades in his science and biology courses, building a strong foundation for his future studies in medicine. Orlain engaged in extracurricular activities related to medicine, such as volunteering at local clinics and hospitals. He not only gained valuable hands-on experience but also developed a network of mentors and professionals who encouraged and guided him on his journey. His passion for medicine went beyond the intellectual aspects. Orlain's teenage years were marked by a deep and unwavering commitment to his dream of becoming a Nurse.

Young Adult; 18 - 22
During his graduation year of High school, 18 years old.
He was able to intern within the hospital near his school for a bit before he graduated and fully worked on his studies in College to better prepare himself for Med School. Once he enrolled in college, Orlain had found himself in a somewhat unexpected detour in Orlain's path was his decision to take a year off to visit the small island town of Karakura in Japan. This journey allowed him to explore a new culture, meet diverse people, and gain a broader perspective on life and its possibilities. Orlain returned to Galway after his year abroad. At 19 years old, Orlain approached his new life in college, he had the opportunity to intern at a local hospital near his school. This internship allowed him to gain valuable real-world experience in the medical field, his passion for medicine and his career choice. It also gave him a sneak peek into the daily life of healthcare professionals. At 20, he rekindled his commitment to his medical studies and chose to major in Human Medicine and Biology whilst Minoring in Anatomy. This decision enabled him to focus more on subjects directly related to his ultimate goal, which was becoming a Nurse. From there, At the age of 21, Orlain made a decision to attend a college that offered programs in Human Medicine and Biology. At the age of 22, Orlain's passion for medicine led him to explore the intricate world of Nursing. Intrigued by the complexity of the human brain and the potential to make a profound impact on patients' lives through this specialisation, he began engaging in discussions with his professors at college.

Mid 20’s; 23 - 26
At the age of 23, he took a significant step by applying to Trinity College in Dublin, one of Ireland's prestigious institutions renowned for its healthcare and medical programs. Orlain received the news of his acceptance into Trinity College in Dublin on his 24th birthday. Upon his acceptance, Orlain had to make the difficult decision to move to Dublin, even if it meant leaving his family in Galway. He celebrated his acceptance with friends and prepared to embark on this new chapter. Packed with books, stationery, clothes, and snacks, even if it was on his own, he set off to Dublin, filled with hope and determination. Over the next three years at Trinity College, Orlain worked tirelessly, immersing himself in his studies and practical experiences. His dedication paid off as he progressed through his coursework, gaining valuable insights and skills that would serve him well in his medical career. This phase was essential for gaining practical experience, working closely with patients, and further honing his medical skills. Upon graduation, he received his white coat, symbolising his achievement and his readiness to be a Nurse. He decided to leave Ireland and venture back to Karakura, Japan, driven by a desire to explore new horizons, engage in international healthcare, and contribute to medical advancements worldwide.

Motivation for Joining KHS:
My motivation for joining KHS is to embrace new experiences and step outside my comfort zone. As I considered my future educational and career paths, I found myself at a crossroads, torn between the familiar route of attending college or pursuing a career in law enforcement through KPD or EMS. While those options had their appeal and seemed like logical choices, I also felt an inner pull to explore something different and unconventional.
High school represents a pivotal stage in a person's life, and I wanted to immerse myself fully in this significant period of personal growth and education.
By joining KHS, I sought to bring a sense of enthusiasm and love to the high school community. I wanted to contribute to the vibrant and dynamic atmosphere of the school, making it a place where students could feel supported and inspired to reach their fullest potential. Sometimes, high school students may feel overwhelmed or uncertain about their futures, and I saw an opportunity to be a source of encouragement and guidance during this critical phase of their lives. Plus, it would be fun and different for me. I’ve already memorised the school which makes me believe I can do fairly well as a School Nurse.

In the end, my motivation for joining KHS was driven by a genuine desire to explore new paths, make a positive impact, and create lasting memories in a place that had the potential to shape my life in ways I couldn't yet fully comprehend. I wanted to seize the opportunity to grow as an individual, learn from others, and be a part of a vibrant community that valued learning, personal development, and mutual support.

Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
One key aspect that sets me apart is my consistent level of activity and dedication. I take my responsibilities seriously, and my commitment to being present at the nurses' station is unwavering. Having an active nurse available is crucial, particularly in situations that require immediate attention, such as bullying incidents or student conflicts.
My timezone is advantageous for the school community. Being in a time zone where I am online fairly early and late means that I can cater to the varying needs of students and staff throughout the day.
