Describe your activity on the server:
I would say I’m decently active these days, but with this role and the opportunities it could afford me, I know I’ll only be all-the-more active if accepted. I used to be super active on this server, first really stepping into the server’s spotlight back in 2019, having a golden run from 2021-23, and then taking a hiatus until this past year as I had IRL matters to attend to. Now, I’m back, and ready to pick up where I left off! I’m usually online everyday, if not every other day, and for multiple hours at a time; so activity should be no issue for me! While on SRP, I make it a point to be present i.e. showing my face, dipping in and out of different roleplays, and this extends across all of my accounts. Whether it’s roleplaying between powers and adults as Bao Koji, living the spoiled, preppy life of Kanae Koji, pleasant conversation as the regimented, yet compassionate and loyal Renata Glass, or goofing around as the kind, yet reserved Mookie Aldridge, I enjoy roleplay in all its forms!

APPLICATION INFORMATION

What position are you applying for?:

I am applying for the position of Governor, because the third time’s the charm!

What is your motivation for applying?:

Roleplay, roleplay, roleplay!!! That, and to hopefully breathe some new life and excitement into the Government Faction once again. I wouldn’t say it’s dead now, but rather that it’s undergoing a metamorphosis of sorts, and with so many spots open, the faction is going to need active, eager members to help jumpstart it back on the path to glory, and I want to be a part of that! Besides, it’s not exactly my first rodeo. I served in the Government Faction twice before as a Governor, and honestly? I miss it! I really enjoyed representing the Institution, roleplaying with the masses, and helping keep a presence within the city. I know the work, I’ve proved that I can do it in the past, and I’ve even gone on to push the envelope. I've prided myself in pushing the boundaries of what a Governor can do, and championing new ways of thinking. As a previous Governor, I opened the floor to public events, such as the opening of a new train station, the public library, and pushed for reforms in education, medical practice, and more. Furthermore, I know the people! I've worked with both Tippie and Gncme on numerous occasions, and they know how I work. I also served alongside the current Premier Governor, Jenau, previously in Council. So this, coupled with my previous statement, that this faction is in need of eager minds, I feel as though I am up to the task, and that I can provide exactly what’s needed at this pivotal time.

Do you have an understanding of Karakura’s laws & Constitutional rights?:

I do! And if I don't, may Gncme strike me down (please don’t).

What are your goals for being in Government Faction?:

Not to echo what I just said in the motivation section, but much of it still rings true. I want to be the boundary breaker, the envelope encourager, the progressive- I can’t think of something I can alliterate that with, but come back to me on that one later. I digress. My goal is simply to breathe life into the faction, and engage in some meaningful, possibly island-changing roleplay again! I would love to collaborate between government and other factions, along with the community teams as well! Both the Lore and Event teams have cooked up some sick stuff in collaboration with the Government faction in the past, and I know we could do it again if we tried! So, to put it plainly, I’d like to collaborate, roleplay, and above all else, have a good time while in this faction! It hasn’t let me down before, I don’t think it will now. I'm excited to see what we can do together!

In your own words, describe the different roles of the Government Faction:

MAYOR:
You know ‘em, you love ‘em, and you also haven’t seen ‘em in a HOT minute. It’s okay Tippie, we understand. Hope everything’s well!
The Mayor oversees the townhall and the senior staff of it. They can hold events, make speeches, open new institutions, and more! The Mayor is often a revered and reputable member of society, often belonging to long famed lineages such as Akihito, Koji, or Herrington.

DEPUTY MAYOR:
Shout out to Katsuhito Saiky-Akihito. Or is it Akihito-Saiky? I can never get it right.
Just beneath the Mayor is the Deputy Mayor. The Deputy Mayor fills in for the Mayor when needed, and is often responsible for much of the technical, behind-the-scenes work when it comes to the day-to-day operations of the government. Often, they are the ones to help on-board new employees, while overseeing internal affairs, and levying the burden of running this island from the shoulders of the Mayor. They do this all while gearing up to potentially succeed the Mayor, in time, of course.

GOVERNOR:
No offense to anyone, but that Bao Koji/Annabell Sturm duo? I don’t think it gets more Government than that!
Often headed by a Premier Governor, Governors set the pace for court proceedings as a middleman between judicial and lawyer contacts. When court is not in session, however, Governors help citizens acquire IDs, marriage certifications, adoption papers, and more. They also serve as the eyes and ears of the government, often keeping a pulse on the community at large. They take suggestions, engage in public debates, and a few have even gone on to open up landmark locations. As a former Premier Governor, and one of the first Governors this server has ever had, it was partially on me to help establish what a Governor could be, and that’s what draws me back to this position so often; it can truly be anything you want it to be! As long as you have the creativity and drive to back it up.

JUDGE:
This will always be Infi’s character for me.
With the counseling of the Chief Judge, Judges oversee trials, weigh in on measures of guilt, ultimately decide the fate of defendants. However, outside of trials, similarly to Governors, Judges too can officiate marriages, hand out ID cards, and more. They are responsible for interpreting the law, and can be called on to help draft new ones if necessary. Judges are often smart individuals with preferences in art, history, and literature.

LAWYER:
Goemen Asogi, need I say more?
Often after counseling with their Attorney General, Lawyers are the backbone of the public’s legal system. They both defend the citizens of Karakura, and prosecute them on the city’s behalf if needed. They are intermediaries whose words can sway the Judges opinion, and so, they are some of the most valued members of staff here. Lawyers must be receptive, detail-oriented, and no shred of evidence, or route of thought can be left untouched when they’re heading the ship.

Do you acknowledge that upon being accepted you can be subject to removal at any given time?:

I understand, and I’ll do everything in my power to ensure it never comes to that!

Have you read & agreed to follow the Government Faction rules?:

I have and I do.

IN CHARACTER SECTION

Full name:

“State my name for the record? Would you like me to-? Oh? Just start speaking? Okay, so- ahuhem-. My name is Renata Glass and this is my- interview? Recorded Interview, for the position of Governor.”

Preferred title (Mr., Mrs., etc.):

“You can call me Renata, but most people just call me Glass, and well, if I’m selected, hopefully, Governor Glass in time. It does have a nice ring to it, after all.”

Current age:

“Don’t you know it’s rude to ask a lady’s age? Got you! No, I’m afraid I’m just pulling your sleeve. I am currently forty-two years old.”

Date of birth:

“And I was born May 23rd, of 1984. Yes, I know, a “19”, shocking.”

Academic Background:

“Ah the nitty-gritty. Well, I am adept in both Political Science and Business-focused Administrative roles. I majored in the former, and minored in Business Management, you see. Well, they served me well as I graduated Magna Cum Laude at MIU, and I have gone on to work in some prodigious positions. Allow me to indulge and to tell you more about them.”

Work experience:

“You see, for many years, I’ve operated in roles of public relations. Tutoring, Teaching, I even served as a Headmistress for an academy, though that’s a rather unusual tale- more on that another time- however, I’ve also sat on town councils, served in administrative assistant roles to powerful visionaries, and more. My work has seen me handle sensitive information of the most confidential kind, and inspire those bright, young, tangible minds around me. So, in short, the same kind of work I might be privy to if selected to the Governorship!”

Nationality & born location:

“I am American, and hail from the New England coastline with both British and Welsh roots. However, I’ve been living in Japan for nearly a decade now. I find the culture here rather fascinating, don't you?”

Criminal record:

“I’m afraid I have no record to speak of. I was always far more interested in my books, and peace, than to run amok with the wrong crowd. I do think myself a rather cautious woman, after all.”

What makes you a good candidate for this job?:

“It’s quite simple, really. I believe I have the temperance for this position. As a leader of the community one must keep a level head, and I feel I excel at just that. If I can oversee a school of rowdy children, I can do nearly anything. Besides, I heard that Koji boy was also interviewing for this position, and if that’s the case, you lot are going to need someone to keep him out of trouble! Think of me as his Annabell Sturm. That was her name, right? The woman that served alongside that boy’s predecessor? He’s mentioned her in brief pleasantries before, so, correct me if I’ve got it mistaken. But yes, with me, you gain a woman with not only poise, compassion, and integrity on her side, but one who keeps her many connections in the community close to heart, and by extension, one who keeps her finger firmly on this city’s pulse. If something happens, if something needs to be ratified or addressed, I am the woman who will know about it, and by extension, your Excellency will too also know about it. In short, to not select me for this position would only serve to hurt the current administration that I know I can help bolster. I thank you for your time, and I await your response! Glass, signing off."
