Gestures Update & Patch Notes • 3.67

Over the past couple of months, myself and the community teams have worked on some amazing changes I'm sure you have all noticed.

During May, we released 'Gestures', a way for you to express yourself and your character through an emote system. With this, we plan to release seasonal packs of gestures which will be exclusive to that season and year and will not be re-released; all gestures are animated by our Media Team with the aid of custom conversion software. You can purchase Summer's Gesture Pack early from https://buy.roleplayhub.net/.

This Summer we plan to introduce MORE brand-new season-exclusive items, ringtones, and more via a newly introduced a NPC found beside the beach entrance, 'Haruto Watanabe', and he's stirring up quite the trouble with the locals. Starting from June 21st, you'll be able to buy a new summer exclusive (or two) every month, including last year's Jetskis and other exciting things.

Upcoming: We're on the final stages of releasing the first half of our Virtual Reality system which you can expect to see within the next couple of weeks! Following that update, for June and July, we have a special surprise update planned which is still in the works and has been highly suggested over the last two years. Stay tuned!

Server Changes

Below is a list of implemented changes made to SchoolRP within the last month.

Updates & Bug Fixes

- The Gestures system as been released which animate your character to allow for dances and other fun gestures which can be used both In and Out of Character!

- All players have received 4 free gestures, more may follow soon!

- Seasonal Gesture Packs will be released with 4-5 unique gestures every season which will not be re-released! These packs must be purchased from the webstore.

- Each rank receives 1-2 gestures with their rank as a new perk.

- A brand-new Apartment Block has been added to Karakura, providing 116 homes to players amongst other opportunities.

- A mysterious trail has been discovered behind the apartment block with an eerie aura surrounding it.

- Another train station has been opened for fast-travel after popular demand.

- The old 'Auto Shop' has become its own fully-fledged Car Dealership, placed underneath this new apartment block.

- 2 new vehicles have been added to the Car Dealership, both 4 seaters for you and your friends to ride around.

- Car Dealership daily deals now go up to a whopping 35% off, check back after every restart to snag yourself a deal.

- ONRAIN now has more new features for all users

- Players can now block other users on the platform.

- Mobile view for profile pages has been improved.

- Businesses now have new features on the platform.

- Player-ran businesses can now create a business profile on ONRAIN.

- Players can now rate and leave reviews businesses on ONRAIN.

- Name tags are no longer visible through walls to help combat metagaming.

- A new NPC has entered town (Haruto Watanabe) found by the beach entrance near the pier. Check him out during the Summer for new and exclusive items.

- Roleplay Hub now supports the latest version of Minecraft (1.20), and soon the blocks and other new features.

- Forum levels have now become harder to gain over time, however everyone's XP has remained the same.

- The tab list has been fixed for versions greater than 1.19.2.

- Added a new system for faction higher ups and roles like captains to create their own events for /events.

Faction & Community Changes

Below is a list of changes made to server factions within the last month by our faction leaders.

School Factions

- Faculty now have an easy way to report students to Senior Leadership for detention, suspension, etc.

- As a student, if you're caught wearing a mask, you could risk being suspended In-Character if you're caught by online Senior Leadership (Principals and Deans).

- The Faculty guidance on confiscating items will be updated within the next few weeks and posted as an update to the FearRP Guide on the forums.

- A new College Council Vice President has been appointed.

- The Student Council are discussing a potential voting system for future vice presidents.

- The Sports Team rules have been updated and new captains have been appointed for some of the teams.

- A Sports Day event was hosted last month which provided players with opportunities to try new sports and even join some teams!

- The Sports Team Captains now have a panel to submit team activity and update their own roster!

City Factions

- A new Deputy Mayor won the recent elections Yui Tsu, winning with 48% of the votes taken from /election.

- Restraining orders are now dealt with by Judges and Lawyers, instead of Police.

- Two towers have been put up for sale! Apply to own one here.

- Shop slots have increased by 2 spaces, allowing for more activity.

- The Shop Faction panel has now been updated via https://shops.schoolrp.net/, used by Shopkeepers and workers to track earnings and stock.

- New shop locations have been introduced around the map, outside of the shopping district to promote map exploration.

- New shipment items have been added for shops to sell.

- The Crime business 'IKIGAI' has received a new update, check out the Discord for more information.

- Gangs now have their own strike system to manage behaviour and promote a good environment for themselves and others.

- Gang members can no longer use roleplay interactions on school grounds as 'gang activity'.

- 2 new gangs have recently received the 'Unverified' title; Rakkiyatsu and Sonomi.

- The Hospital faction has made the recovery and prosthetic logs public, however players may only take their own character information ICly.

- New medications have been added to the Pharmacy.

- Some older and unnecessary medications have been removed from the Pharmacy.

- Clinical Leads any now learn other departments when said department has residents waiting to be trained.

- The Police station now has a mailbox where citizens can leave notebook reports.

- Officers may now confiscate masks if they have evidence they were used whilst committing a felony/assault crime.

Community & Staff Team

- The Event Team has received a new lead; Tippie_

- The Media Team has received a new lead; YonioTheNacho

- The Lore Team have produced lore for the new 'Itsbyoshi Trail', with rumours of an evil spirit.

- The Lore Team are working on a new laboratory piece which will explain some previous occurrences during events, and such.

- All Lore events now focus on the community as a whole, ensuring anyone can take part.

- A system to ensure the quality of future of Flash Events has been created.

- AllenBUwU has joined the Staff Team as a Trial Moderator.

- Zaldoria has joined the Staff Team and is now a Moderator.

Slice of Life Part 2, Bug Fixes, and Server Updates • 3.64

Over the past month, we've been hard at work to finish clearing the backlog we've worked through over the last year following the major updates to the last legacy system on our list of incompatible and dated systems from 2018; 'Attributes'.

Due to the modernisation of our older systems being complete, our approach to development for SchoolRP has changed. We've moved our 'Update Timeline' away from trello and onto a Notion page which will display more detailed information about active or ongoing development. With this, we will also start to document each and every system on this Notion page which will help newer and older players understand how to make use of the many features we've implemented over the years.

Slice of Life Update Part 2

Phone System Changes
In our most recent 'Slice of Life' update, we added systems to enable 'Phone Signal' which only affects those who are in event zones, jail, detention or inside of the sewers. Your Phone's signal has 4 states; Full bars, Low bars, No signal, and Unknown.

In places like jail and event zones, your phone may experience 'No Signal' which completely disables your ability to use cellular features such as calling, or texting. Whereas, entering the sewers will only give 'Low bars' which means you'll still be able to use cellular phone features, however some messages may be obfuscated; made unintelligible, similar to drunk messages.

You can see your phone signal on the right-hand side of your action bar, along with your wallet.

Time System Changes
Many of you may have noticed the changes to your UI (User Interface) in-game. These changes were made to help make things easier to understand & modernise SchoolRP, this was an older update we had planned for Summer from our backlog.

You may notice that your current time is now set to a 12-hour clock by default, however you can change this back by sending the command '/timeformat'. Along with this, the temperature is no longer displayed in anticipation for a weather update we're working on in the background which will include a forecast! Nevertheless, you'll be able to see whether it's storming, raining, or sunny outside by looking at the icon beside your time.

You may also notice a location section which will display your location accurate to Karakura's lore and the name of certain buildings.

Fishing Changes
After a recent fishing update, we've changed the way you catch and sell fish in-game. On top of this, you are now able to cook fish using an oven, giving them more than just monetary purpose.

This new fishing system gamifies fishing and helps to prevent people AFK farming. Although this might make fishing take much longer for some, some of the fishing sale prices have been upped to reflect the amount of time taken.

By completing fishing levels, you are now given the Luck potion effect every 50 levels (similar to swim and acrobatics) which will allow you to catch fish at faster rates.

Furniture
This long awaited update has been on our backlog for sometime, however it's now possible to place certain items in your house, apartment, etc!

You can purchase custom furniture from Fernando's Furniture located beside the 11/7 behind school. Some furniture items can be used as a seat, and eventually others may have other abilities such as their own menus; we will soon be moving printers, bins, etc. over to this system as well. You can also purchase custom furniture if Fenando's Furniture doesn't suit all of your needs.

Server Changes

Below is a list of implemented changes made to SchoolRP within the last month.

Updates

- We added placable 3D models; Furniture.

- Similar to Items and Vehicles, you can now purchase Custom Furniture from https://buy.roleplayhub.net/.

- You can buy furniture in-game from Fernando's Furniture, located beside 11/7 behind the School building.

- You can place any furniture item inside of your property in-game.

- We updated our User Interface.

- Our time manager has been moved to the top of your screen, along with other information such as the current event, weather, and your current location.

- We changed your hotbar UI to include the amount of Yen your character is carrying in their 'wallet' (whatever isn't in your bank).

- We changed our Fishing system.

- A mini game is now activated when a fish is ready to be caught.

- There is now a ¥150,000 limit on fishing earnings per day.

- Fish can now be cooked in an oven.

- We added some additional functionality to the Auction system after popular demand.

- You can now check your current listings and remove them via the management GUI.

- Shift-right clicking your listing no longer removes it, you must use the management GUI.

- You can now start selling via the GUI, using the item you're holding.

- If you remove your own listing, the item is returned directly to you, rather than being sent the post office.

- Vehicles have been changed slightly with the bug fixes

- Whitelists are now for additional drivers, NOT passengers.

- You can now get in the passenger seat of a vehicle through shift-clicking near the drivers seat to open the seating GUI.

- We automated the in-game streetlights to turn themselves on and off progressively.

- At Bedtime the streetlights will automatically turn themselves on.

- At Dawn the streetlights will automatically turn themselves off.

- Players now receive reminders to go to school during school hours if they are not already in school.

- Faction members now have a new way to request things from their faction lead via a Discord bot.

- A new commands guide/document has been created which will soon include system documentation.

- We updated our In-Character Social Media platform ONRAIN

- You may now link multiple Minecraft accounts to one ONRAIN account, which gives 2 profiles/minecraft account.

- Password resets have now been fixed.

- You can now make invitation links to ONRAIN group chats.

- You can now link ONRAIN with Discord Apps.

- You can now delete sent messages in private messages.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed bugged vehicles duplicating after restarts.

- Fixed vehicles not allowing non-whitelisted passengers.

- Fixed attribute saving after restarts.

- Fixed auction house item removal for non-staff.

- Fixed password resetting on ONRAIN.

- Fixed some donation perks not appearing as owned.

- Fixed some internal issues with the grab command.

- Fixed some internal issues with the taxpay command.

- Fixed spawn bug with new players & expelled and suspended roles

- Fixed hunger on the Baseball field.

- Fixed Discord school notifications.

- Fixed issues with Discord bot button interactions.

Faction & Community Changes

Below is a list of changes made to server factions within the last month by our faction leaders.

School Factions

- Sports Team houses are now entirely managed by the Sports Lead.

- Sports Team & Captain rules have been reformatted and made clearer.

- Sports Captains can now update their own rosters through a web panel.

- School Faculty information has been merged into one document to make the rules and information clearer to all faction members, rather than having some documents outdated, or incorrect.

- School Faculty now have their own higher ups system, lead by all three faculty leads.

- School Faculty now have a system to notify them when school hours have started.

- Professor & Teacher training processes have been merged, meaning they receive the same training content.

- Teachers are now promoted In-Character, rather than it being an Out-Of-Character process.

- The Counselor role has been re-added to the School Employee faction.

- A school sleep over event has been hosted.

- Exams are planned for the start of April.

City Factions

- 'Pretty Trials' are soon to be implemented to the Government.

- All Government employees are now allowed to distribute National ID cards.

- All Government workers are now encouraged to sit at the town hall front desk.

- Police Plea systems for Criminals has now been updated, meaning if you plead not guilty, you cannot be bailed until a Government official has reviewed your case.

- A judicial arrest system has been introduced for Criminals with three or more arrests.

- The Police bail system has been update to have a bigger impact on those with more arrests.

- The Hospital is no longer a Safezone.

- Wheelchairs are being introduced to the Hospital.

- A Recovery system has been introduced for patients at the Hospital.

- Metal detectors have been added to the Hospital building.

- Shrine now have a bell which acts similar to a Shop Advert when there's something going on.

- Shrine staff training has been updated.

- Verified Gangs have been increased to a limit of 5.

- Unverified Gangs have been increased to a limit of 8.

Community & Staff Team

- New Lore blocks have been added around town.

- Karakura's Influential Families document has been released.

- The History of Karakura Highschool & College document has been released.

- Various flash events have been hosted by the Event Team.

- The Luau Party and Flood Event series was recently held by the Event Team.

- Modellers are now tasked with making Custom Furniture.

Slice of Life Update & Patch Notes • 3.63

Following the Gangs & Crime Update, we've finished our long-awaited Attributes plugin, as well as a few more additions to improve the overall quality of life of the citizens of Karakura In-Character.

We're excited to announce that we have brought back our Cooking Plugin after roughly 2 years of it being removed due to instability; some of you may remember. This plugin allows you to cook and fry food for you and your guests, whilst also breathing new life to roleplay within restaurants and cafés around Karakura! Utilise ingredients like Eggs, Steak, and Flour and master the art of food with the new 'Cooking' Attribute.

With our Attributes update, we've also made our CCTV cameras functional around Karakura which will help to improve the response time for tickets, gang and criminal activity, and help the Police and other factions properly roleplay out scenarios which previously weren't possible.

Slice of Life Update

Fishing Changes
When catching different fish, you will slowly gain the 'Fishing' attribute which helps you to catch fish faster! This attribute is particularly helpful to newer players who are fishing as their main source of income.

Along with this attribute, you can now catch NEW fish types which now have their own models in-game. To pair with the cooking plugin, we decided to add cooking fish to the cooking plugin, meaning you can cook most fish in an oven to eat or sell on to your friends!

CCTV Changes
Previously, Police Officers had to request CCTV of a target from staff; if the Officer was in the CCTV room and had actioned to look for their target and their target is near a camera, they would be given a rough idea of where the were.

Now, Police must use intelligence learnt from reports and other Officers to pin-point them through the realistic camera system.

Cooking Plugin • Frying
The Oven once again allows players to use frying pans! This update includes many fixes to the previous plugin, most notably the broken frying pans which once upon a time couldn't be destroy. Other fixes includ protecting fried items from being stolen by other players, which in turn will help Teachers and Professors to host classes with this new system.

Currently, you can fry: Steak, Egg, and Bacon. All of which can be used in the Oven to bake and cook more complex foods.

This is currently the fastest way to level up your 'Cooking' attribute.

Cooking Plugin • Ovens
Cooking with an Oven opens you up to a plethora of new recipes with NEW items, including Sushi, Cake, and much more! To cook recipes, you'll need to reach a certain level using the 'Cooking' attribute. Some items are based on their realistic difficulty, and others are simply harder to make to encourage you to level up!

We'll be adding more food items to this system over the next couple of months. Got ideas for more? Leave us a Suggestion!

Server Changes

Below is a list of implemented changes made to SchoolRP within the last month.

Updates

- We updated our Attributes plugin.

- After some testing, we've perfected the plugin to be a modernised version of our previous plugin.

- A Fishing attribute was added and will increase per caught Fish.

- A Cooking attribute was added and increases per item Cooked or Fried.

- Added 'Quick Time' events which give random players a small boost in speed if they beat the mi****me, activate them by doing /quicktimeevents.

- Endurance has been changed to be based off of your Acrobatics, Speed, Swimming and Fishing attributes (meaning once you have 100% in all four, you will have maxed out your Endurance). At the moment, gaining Endurance will give you more time underwater, in a later update we will introduce more perks for this.

- Lung Capacity was removed in favour of Endurance.

- Boosters have been added to certain attributes within the School.

- Track field provides x0.25 Speed increment multiplier

- School pool provides x0.25 Swimming increment multiplier
- The school provides x0.25 Cooking increment multiplier

- Added new Feather Client only features to SchoolRP

- We added a confirmation to our Auction system to prevent players accidentally purchasing.

- Added brand-new Blackmarket & Gangs systems (see post).

- Added new colour code &u which stands for Universal; you can use this to display your custom /chatcolor, meaning more room for your actions!

- Updated our Class system to include more utility commands and teaching assistant permissions.

- We added a new Mechanic system to allow players to purchase cars! We recommend you check every day for a bargain with the daily sales.

- We updated our /spawn command to teleport players to their pre-defined spawn points (e.g. during school, student spawn points are in school).

- We introduced a new CCTV system to be a real feature usable by all major factions.

- We added fun new messages to our /feed command to make it a little more realistic.

- We added a brand-new Estate Agent NPC which will help both newer and older players find a new apartment, house or penthouse!

- We updated our In-Character Social Media platform ONRAIN

- The website is now more user-friendly for Mobile users.

- Added invite links for groups.

- Images and GIFs can now be used everywhere on the platform.

- Added follower/following lists to profiles.

- You can now delete sent messages in private messages.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed Jukeboxes in Apartment EditMode.

- Fixed Dodgeball eggs being glitched if they're stored in the off-hand.

- Fixed pop-ups on ONRAIN.

- Fixed Composters being usable.

- Fixed Bins being used in EditMode.

- Fixed the paging items in Auction GUI.

- Fixed Radio system being permanently on.

- Fixed being able to buy your own Auction item.

Faction & Community Changes

Below is a list of changes made to server factions within the last month by our faction leaders.

School Factions

- Head of Department Teachers & Professors now have more responsibilities within the school and their respective factions.

- Qualified Teachers & Professors now earn an additional 50,000 yen.

- Field trips now earn Teachers & Professors additional quota points.

- The School has begun hosting more Faculty only events.

- Tutors can now join classes using the Teacher commands to help with assisting them.

City Factions

- The Hospital have revamped their Quota and Training system internally.

- Gangs now have a system in-game which allow them to access information about their gang and manage Turf EditMode.

- Crime Businesses are now moving into the Crime Discord.

- New weapons were added to the Black Market.

- Criminals and Citizens a-like can now intervene and steal Black Market Dealer shipments by finding them around town.

- Kill Permissions have been updated (see more).

- Shops and Businesses now have their own section on the forums to post their applications and information.

- Officers must now log every time they use their guns so that they can be held accountable.

- Fines for age-restricted items now escalate depending on how much contraband is found on a character.

- If compliant, students must now be taken out of School grounds before being arrested or detained.

- You can now adopt a character In-Character with the Government.

- You can now request a gravestone in the grave yard if your character has had a recent funeral, pending you meet the Government requirements.

Community & Staff Team

- The new Event Team Calendar will be released soon.

- Event Team members have hosted the New Years Festival & Winter Wonderland recently.

- Official Karakura families within Lore have been added.

- The Lore Team has posted the History of Government and KPD.

- New Lore blocks have been added around town.

- vaao has joined the Staff Team and is now a Moderator.

- Jaeyla has joined the Staff Team and is now a Moderator.
