Criminal & GangRP Updates

Over the past couple of months, the staff team have been working on the criminal aspects our server.

We've overhauled our Gangs system to integrate more with the server and its current features. This includes a specific plugin for the Criminal aspects of SchoolRP with features that I'm sure will excite some of you. In addition to this, we introduced a faction leader to the Criminal faction for Gangs; this will overtime increase activity with the faction with events, monitoring and involvement, we're looking forward to the additional ideas the current Black Market Lead and the new Gang Lead will present to you all in the coming months. Lastly, parts of the Sewers are being slowly updated by our build team.

Server Changes

Below is a list of implemented changes made to SchoolRP within the last month.

Gangs System

- Gangs now have their own in-game system.

- Gang Managers now have permissions to edit turf (if their gang has one).

- Gangs will soon have more integration with Discord, including live stats and logs.

- More & Existing Gang Turfs will be made in, or connected to the sewers to encourage criminal activity underground.

- Gangs will soon receive an activity & strike system, similar to other factions.

- @P3RK3 now leads Gangs.

Black Market System

- Black Market Dealers no longer order from signs, meaning their job has even more increased risk.

- When ordering from the dark net, Dealers will have to follow GPS coordinates to find their shipments!

- With the new shipment system, Dealers just have to find the shipment and click it. However, if they take longer than 2 minutes to reach the shipment, players can steal the shipment and loot it! (shipments can contain verified and unverified gang exclusive weapons).

- Dealers will automatically be able to detect what level of gang a customer is in to save on time.

- Dealer tax is now variable and changes depending on how much they earnt during the order.

- IKIGAI (a crime business) has now become specifically targeted towards Criminals after the new ONRAIN update.

- The Black Market are working on releasing the 'Dark Auction' where exclusive weapons and masks will be sold.

Looting Shipment
As advertised above, Criminals and Civilians can steal shipments from the Black Market during openings, however there are over 50 possible locations. Here is what stealing a shipment looks like:

Rule Changes

Below is a list of changes to our server rules relating to Criminal Roleplay.

9.1 To act on any permissions, a valid in-character motive must be present.

9.1a Common sense: Although “crazed” behavior is allowed, a character being “insane” is not a valid reason to act on gained permissions above minor assault permissions.

9.1b Punishment: Fear of getting caught should also be present; your character should not attempt to kill someone or act on permission if they are likely to be caught.

9.6 With kill permissions, you are allowed to kill another character.

9.6a Kill permissions can only be acted upon by members who have OOCly consented to it unless both parties are members of a verified or an unverified gang and have obtained kill permissions (Refer to 9.6c).

9.6ab KPS obtained without OOC consent cannot be passed outside of your gang.

9.6b Kill permissions require in-character motive to be acted upon. Someone agreeing to KPS OOCly is not a valid in-character reason to kill their characters.

9.6c Members of verified and unverified gangs are allowed to act on kill permissions if the character they obtained KPS on is also in a verified or unverified gang.

9.6d Police officers do not require OOC consent to kill a character; they can shoot and kill a character if the character has a weapon or is deemed to be life-threatening to others.

9.6e If you have consented to your character’s being killed, and the other party attempts it, you will obtain kill permissions on those involved in the attempt.

9.6f Kill permissions can be obtained for the following reasons (this is only true for members of verified and unverified gangs, BMDS, and Criminal Associates, both parties must be members for the kill permissions to be valid):

9.6fa Weaponry: If a deadly weapon is used against your character in a physical way (weapon threats, stabbing, etc.), your character obtains Kill Permissions.

9.6fb Gang Leave: If a member leaves a verified gang, the current gang lead will obtain kill permissions on the leaving member. However, a valid in-character reason to act on those permissions is required (leaving the gang itself is not a valid reason).

9.6fc Shots fired: If a police officer has attempted to use or used their Glock-17 for Combat purposes on you or a fellow gang member, you obtain kill permissions on the said officer.

9.6fd Black Market: If you resell any of the black market exclusive items currently available in the Karakura Black Market, any dealers that witness it will obtain kill permissions on your character.

Patch Notes • 3.61

During the month break we took for posting patch notes, a lot has changed!

We're proud to announce that SchoolRP has now moved from 1.17 to 1.19.1, this means more blocks and animals available to us for roleplaying with. With this move to 1.19.1, we recommend all players to connect to SchoolRP using a 1.19 client (or above).

The long-awaited In-Character Social Media platform known as 'ONRAIN' is once again available to ALL SchoolRP players. This version has been completely re-skinned and re-coded to work with our In-Game phone systems, meaning you can join group chats and text your friends in and outside of the game as well as post images and update your In-Character friends on what's going on in your character's life. We'll also be bringing the Auction house to ONRAIN at a later date as a 'Marketplace' feature.

We have introduced two additional developers to our development team which means more frequent and substantial updates to our systems and your experience on SchoolRP. Our latest projects that have been assigned are Attributes (and cooking), and Virtual Reality; you can expect to see these implemented in the coming 2-3 months. By next month, you can also expect the Exams plugin to be fully functional, this means we'll be hosting exams more frequently, giving you more chances to progress your characters through our College system.

A sprinkle of Christmas has been dropped upon Karakura as the seasons change In-Character from Autumn to Winter! You can find Santa Claus at spawn with Advent Calendar features, as well as gifts around the map to collect after the 12th of December to the 5th of January!

Server Changes

Below is a list of implemented changes made to SchoolRP within the last month.

Updates

- Players can now use 1.19 features, including blocks and mobs.

- A Frog whitelist has been added to the animal system.

- Icons to indicate being in Build-Mode have been added for Creative and Editmode users.

- Store announcements have been given new sprites dependant on the category of purchase.

- Store purchases now set off a fun firework to say thanks alongside a player-side message.

- Our In-Character Social Media website 'ONRAIN' has returned!

- Group and Private chats with In-Game phone integration.

- Posts, Likes and Comments (including a feed with accurate filtering).

- Trending topics with the use of hashtags, e.g. #onrain.

- Profile system to allow you to have more than one character or a business in addition to your original profile upon sign-up.

- Followers and follow requests, including privacy settings.

- A new Auction & Mail system has been implemented to better suit roleplay.

- The Mailman system will be attached to future systems, including sending, receiving mail, and collecting mail from mailboxes.

- The Auction system has been implemented with the previous rules integrated into the plugin to prevent newer players from getting warned for breaking them.

- The long-awaited emote colour system has been implemented, allowing you to save your colour preferences for actions (e.g. /it, /me, /my).

- Teacher and Professor class systems have been upgraded.

- When joining classes, if the teacher/professor is more than 50 blocks away from their class, new classmates will be teleported near the teacher.

- Teachers and Professors can now re-open classes after closing them to allow for more student participation.

- Teachers and Professors can send special broadcasts to their class In-Character to make chat a little easier to navigate during classes.

- SLT have been given new commands to help assist Professors and Teachers, as well as participate in classes.

- New players now receive free food to help them get started (free food cannot be removed from an inventory).

- /hub has been re-introduced as a functional command, meaning you no longer have to fully type out /server hub1.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed class kick location.

- Fixed pagination on auction house menu.

- Fixed bug preventing non-karakura events.

- Fixed bug where laying didn't work.

- Fixed bug where basketballs could be thrown outside of the court.

- Fixed bug where local roleplay chat stopped working occasionally.

- Fixed bug where staff would have 'vanished' above their head.

- Fixed Store purchase messages varying due to country/region tax.

Faction & Community Changes

Below is a list of changes made to server factions within the last month by our faction leaders.

School Factions

- The Sports faction have started hosting competitions between sports teams to build on In-Character rivalry and give the teams something to do.

- Senior Leadership now plan 3+ events per month collectively, including club events.

- The internships programme has been revised and heavily improved.

- Competitive football rules have been rewritten.

- Club Leaders can now edit their own rooms without staff/faction lead supervision.

- A club rush was recently hosted.

- A monthly event quota has been introduced to all clubs to ensure they're active, and to give you more things to take part in.

- Student award ceremonies have been re-introduced, more will be taking place in future including a faculty party and award ceremony later this month.

City Factions

- Quotas have been re-introduced to all Black Market Dealers.

- IKIGAI is now under different leadership and will be turned into a space marketed towards Criminals now that ONRAIN has been re-implemented for regular Citizens.

- The Tactical Knife was re-added to the Black Market weapon roster.

- Mask items are now required to be worn if you wish to hide your identity (skins can no longer be used to serve this purpose).

- The sewers are currently undergoing renovations to update their builds and better accommodate future events and plans with gangs.

- The Shrine faction now has 15 slots.

- Shrine can now host up to 15 maidens/priests.

- Events are being hosted more frequently at the Shrine.

- New tax policies have been added to Towers and Estates.

- Rights for tenants of Towers and Estates have been implemented to make renting fairer in player-owned property.

- Riot gear has been updated to fit a 'SWAT' aesthetic which makes more sense for situations usually dealt with by KPD.

- Tax evasion has been added to the chargeable offences for Landlords of Executive properties.

- A new Commissioner has been brought into Karakura.

- The Pharmacy has had several items changed, removed and added.

- A new Hospital Director has been brought into Karakura.

- Therapy & Recovery sessions are limited to 15-30 OOC Minutes.

Community & Staff Team

- More Lore blocks have been added to Karkaura.

- The Lore team have implemented a native family list which will influence past lore.

- The Event team are working on a City Event calendar.

- The Modelling team will soon re-brand into the 'Media Team' which will accept skin makers, video editors, and other creative hobbyists.

- @FigT has joined the development team.

- @DylanDeNewb has joined the development team.

Patch Notes • 3.59

Over the last month, we've made necessary changes and optimizations to our resource pack (further optimizations will be made in the near future) to allow the pack to load faster and prevent several client-side errors and crashes. Updating our resource pack also enables us to continue to add more assets to the pack for the foreseeable future. Because of this update, we've sadly had to drop support for versions below 1.14 due to those versions not supporting custom model data.

We're still working on the back-end of ONRAIN, due to unforeseen circumstances. We've also moved our new Exams system into development, meaning more opportunities for students to progress through the system will be available in the near future.

Server Changes

Below is a list of implemented changes made to SchoolRP within the last month.

Updates

- ALL in-game items have been moved from the old system to custom model data.

- Version support for any version below 1.14 has been dropped in favour of 1.14's custom model data.

- In-Character taxes for factions and model payments have been completely re-worked.

- New prefixes/tags have been added to the chat and name tag system.

- ALL rank prefixes have been updated to the new system to better fit the new style we've adopted over the last year.

- The tag "BUILDING" now appears when a player is in Creative/Edit mode.

- The tag "AFK" now appears when a player has been idle for 10 minutes.

- Donators now get a new announcement when their donation has been processed.

- After being processed, celebratory firework is set off, and a fancy new message displays in chat.

- The chat can no longer be flooded with donation messages.

- The AFK system has been changed.

- AFK status is now shown in nametags.

- Whenever a staff member/you try to contact each other whilst AFK, the sender will receive a warning that the receiver is AFK.

- The player now receives a title screen when entering and exiting AFK mode.

- A /grab command has been added which has a 50% success-rate.

- The Hub server now has a Discord Synchronisation command, /syncdiscord <@mention>

- Tickets now have 'Daily IDs' which are more friendly to players and staff than the long ID supplied by the plugin.

- The resource pack message upon joining the server has been updated to include new information.

- The glowing effect is no longer given to those in Property Editmode.

- A new rule has been added to the rule book #6.10

Bug Fixes

- Fixed Hexadecimal colour codes not parsing in player descriptions.

- Fixed and moved groups to a new database system.

- Fixed Basketballs being duplicated/used outside of the court.

- Fixed phantom vehicles being spawned after restart.

- Fixed the restart announcement not sending properly.

- Fixed the vending machine giving the icon item instead of the food/drink.

- Fixed water guns registering hits for entities incorrectly.

- Fixed bug with profile data not loading properly.

- Fixed links not working when replying to staff via /reply.

Faction & Community Changes

Below is a list of changes made to server factions within the last month by our faction leaders.

School Factions

- The Summer Exams were hosted on the 17th of September, the results of which will be announced on the 15th of October due to the large amounts of marking.

- The Summer Dance was hosted last month, the next dance entitled 'Fright Night Dance' will be held at the end of October.

- The next Masters to PHD opportunity is coming soon; projects will be due by the 4th of November.

- All school rooms have been updated (Art, Broadcast, Media, Spartan Lounge, etc.).

- Seasonal specials have been re-added to the school's cafeteria.

- Tutors and Teachers once again receive some topics from the exam paper being used in the upcoming exam to help newer players.

- Debate club has become Music club.

- Literature club has returned to the club roster.

City Factions

- Pepper spray cooldown has been shortened to ten seconds as this item has only 3 uses.

- The Police force now have their own sewer entrance.

- Reconstruction of parts of the sewers has began.

- IKAGI has joined the Criminal Business roster.

- 'Adobansu' has joined the Verified Gangs roster.

- Hospital Staff must now pay a tax on items they sell in the Pharmacy.

- Hirathex has been promoted to Hospital faction lead.

- Marriages can now be legally recognised through a similar system to verifying a business.

- Shrine staff can now do Tarot card readings

- cloud_divider has been promoted to Shrine faction lead.

- flowersak has been promoted to Shop faction lead.

- Taxes for Shopkeepers now vary based on income thresholds to make it fairer for low-income shops.

- Glossier, Heart Sunglasses, and Flower Earrings are now considered public items and will likely be available in more shops soon.

Community & Staff Team

- The Lore for the History of Karakura has been released.

- The Districts and Roads of Karakura have been named in a Lore document.

- Modellers are now working with the custom model data system.

- The Media team has been dissolved and replaced with a new system.

- Lizalopod has been brought on as a Moderator after passing their trial period.

- cloud_divider has been brought on as a Moderator after passing their trial period.
