Which timezone are you in?
I am currently in the GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) timezone, but in the summer when it comes around, I go into the BST (British Summer Time) timezone.
List your current and past IC/OOC faction applications:
In order are the factions I’ve applied to for IC! Some were not applied to on the forums but you can always DM the person to confirm my application.
Describe your activity on the server:
Currently, my activity peaks up to 8 hours a day on the server, since graduating from education, my free time has been extreme. I do have some IRL hospital situations that I do have to disappear for here and there as well on top of my current health where inactivity may be required, but it’s rarely gotten to the bad of in recent months! However, there will be a time in the next year or more that I will be applying for a job meaning I may decrease in activity during the day. I will of course inform the faction lead of this sudden change when it happens, but inactivity is rare as I’m always active due to my role within the community. However, to make it easier, I am often Free around 1pm GMT to around 12am GMT, everyday!
What is your motivation for applying?:
Motivation is quite difficult to write for me, because sometimes it can be on and off. Nearly two years ago I was in KPD for a few months and it was the best era on SRP I’ve personally experienced, it came to and end and I will not lie, it is something I heavily regret leaving KPD, but my Motivation wasn’t there, now it’s here and it’s been here for awhile. I’ve been debating this application for KPD for some time, spending time roleplaying around people who are within KPD and simply watching from afar the duties they fill out, that makes me eager to want to join again, being able to be a part of such a range of things in one faction. It’s something I want to enjoy and experience once more, but also making a small difference to peoples roleplays ICly as well!
What knowledge do you have of Police Work?
My knowledge on police work is pretty solid, considering I was previously in KPD before and did lack some knowledge, now I’d like to think I know quite a bit. I’ll split it up from equipment, departments and just an overview of the basic information that the public knows. Of course, my knowledge may be a little rusty as it has been over a year and half since I was in KPD last.
Why is Police important to SchoolRP?
The KPD is more important to SchoolRP than most people think, without it, there wouldn’t be any stability of crime-rates or overall dealing with situations such as protesting against the government, EMS would start to become overwhelmed with injuries because there is no one able to maintain that crime rate, then government would begin to struggle because people would continuously start to protest against them. KPD helps maintain that balance that is required, but also gives that extra bonus of roleplay for other people.
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?
I am very aware that if I do not attend training and I am online or on any accounts, I will get strikes or removed from the position of an Officer.

Equipment
Ranking System:
There are two departments within the KPD, Main division and Detective Division!
Everyone within the KPD will start as a Cadet and slowly make their way up the rankings or change to the Detective Division.
Radio System:
KPD has a system with radios, It’s called codes. While random people may be thinking they are saying some random numbers, the police are communicating in ways that are quicker to say and easier to understand than saying a long sentence. They have 8 codes and then their Code 0 which is the one officers do not want to hear at all.
Equipment | Meaning |
Radio | The radio is a communication device given to all government workers (town included) so they can communicate through situations. KPD have their own communication channel, then they have one with EMS to communicate for blood tests or injured people. Lastly, they have one with town to communicate in regards to Lawyers or Warrant calls. |
Body Camera | A body camera is on all officers while on duty, they are always turned on unless stated otherwise. These are for the officers protection as well as civilians to track arrests or locations of a potential injured officer as well as evidence for any cases that may come up. |
Stun Blaster | Stun Blaster is the most common piece of equipment an officer will use, it is a blue item that is always in their hand while they are on patrol or responding to emergency calls. The Stun blaster will temporarily stun someone into a position for an officer to act and arrest without the concern of being harmed, or if the suspect keeps running, this prevents them from continuing. |
Riot Shield / Muggable | The Riot shields serve as an extra protection for the KPD, these are often used against Civilians who are protesting, hostage situations or even situations where they are in danger within the KPD. |
Crowbar / Muggable | A crowbar is used by everyone in KPD, the crowbar serves as a purpose to help get access to areas they cannot open, these areas can be apartments for raids, hostage situations or even hunting down a kidnapped victim and they are behind locked doors that require the crowbar. |
Handcuffs | Handcuffs have a basic purpose, they go around the suspect/inmate's wrist and prevent them from attempting to get away, or attacking the officer who is attempting to arrest/detain them. It’s a restrain method in a way. |
Tranquilizer | Tranquilizer is a piece of equipment that is set for a certain rank within the KPD, this equipment will cause the suspect/animal (in rare cases) to be knocked out asleep due to the darts. This equipment is often only used in extreme situations such as bear calls, hostage situations or evasion. |
Baton / Muggable | Batons are a side weapon, theses in a way consider another form of protection for KPD against civilians, inmates and suspects. These are to be used in situations of a water chase (often sewers), inmate care, or when you do not have access to the taser to knock the suspect/inmate out if necessary. |
Pepper Spray | A pepper spray is rarely used since the other equipment is more effective, however, in some situations the pepper spray will come in handy if you do not have a tranquilizer or taser at hand, it will temporarily blind the person from a certain distance so the Officer can either run or taze to arrest. This also is useful on bears as well, to help people flee if necessary. |
Breathalyzer | This is an item used across emergency services, this item is used for when people are intoxicated by alcohol consumption. The Officer will ask them to breathe into the machine which then will give the result of how drunk they are and do what's necessary to help. |
Gas Mask / Muggable | Gas masks are a common identity concealing for KPD when it comes to situations where they may be at risk by civilians but also when they are attending calls that may involve fire or sewers. |

What's your character's full name?:
Oisín Sugiyama
How old is your character (if accepted)?:
27
What are your character's gender and pronouns?:
Male - They/Them
Please select your highest academic role at the time of writing this application: (Grade-12/Bachelors/Masters/PhD):
Masters in Criminology , Masters in Criminal Psychology and Bachelors in Law & Justice
What languages does your character know besides Japanese?:
Natively from Ireland, So they know Gaelic and JSL
Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?
Oisín is unique in himself, he stands at around 6 '4 with a unique colour of dark blue to his hair, of course it is dyed and not natural. Across his arms, he has bright crimson spiderlilys with a certain date that is often covered with his clothes. Among his facial features, you’ll notice he has a few freckles with a small amount of facial hair which is just subtle. You’ll also notice he has some piercing on his ears as well as a lip piercing that was a silver ring, just hanging onto his lip.
Oisín is half Irish and half Japanese, so he has quite a unique accent when speaking. He often has a lisp or can mispronounce things due to the fact that he has a lisp. It's not that he isn’t saying it right, it just sounds wrong. On top of that, he does often wear a lot of silver jewelry but that is just a preference and fashion statement for him.
Personality wise, Oisín is very driven and outgoing, he often prefers practical based things so you will often see him focused on work and doing it to the best of his ability, you’ll also notice his friendly nature that he has, on top of his protectiveness, which is a bonus for him as he prefers being able to keep people safe.

How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?
Professional situation:
In professional situations, usually on duty, Oisín always remains professional, never using people's first names and always sticking to the last names or callsigns if they have those. Remain respectful towards the co-workers/peers around them but also respecting the fact there are going to be people higher than him, meaning he cannot have attitude or disrespect. If he sees himself in a situation where he is going to feel like he is heated, he will inform the people around him that he will need to take a minute once the situation has been resolved.
If he is dealing with an active criminal situation, professionalism is always required, there would be no cussing coming from him, he would remain neutral in the situation, making sure he hears both sides of the situation.
Casual situations;
In casual situations it would be slightly different, these would occur off duty. he would be more himself, allowing him to relax under the professional restrictions, but that doesn’t mean his attitude or guard would change, he would remain calm and respectful and still call his peers by their last name or callsign, unless they state otherwise out of respect. However, he will cuss slightly but only around his family, as that’s a natural flick of his tongue when he is around his little sister, often being chaotic.
However, there may be some casual situations where you’re on duty or you are at a work based party, etc. He will still remain the same as his professional actions, remaining respectful and remaining on his line of rankings.
What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?
Oisín actually prefers teamwork, he believes that if you work as a team, you are bound to get things done quicker and smoother without risk of injuries, confusion and miscommunication among the team. He’s always grown up to not work alone because things can be much harder and prefers working in small groups or big groups, helps the situation get solved faster.
In regards to co-workers, Oisín doesn’t mind them as long as they are respectful towards others and himself. He doesn’t enjoy a co-worker who thinks they are higher than everyone else when reality is they are the same level, Oisín also tends to see co-workers as family, if one were to get injured or require support, he would be there to assist, as long as the respect goes both ways!

What's your character's backstory?
This backstory is summarized!
Age 0 - 6
Oisín Sugiyama was born in 1998. The first and last child born into the Sugiyama family. Luckily for Oisín, he was born into a loving family, His mother was natively Irish and his father natively Japanese. He grew up in a small home, full of love and havoc, but not the bad havoc, the fun and chaotic type. He learnt his first words, first steps and how to speak Gaelic and Japanese since he was going to be the bilingual child, knowing both native tongues of his parents. He lived in the Northern part of Ireland, this area Gaelic was the common language over English.
Eventually, he got to the age of 5, but he was different than most kids, he was fixated on Crime, not a normal interest for children, Oisín enjoyed watching crime shows with his parents after school and homework, most people thought it was one of those fixations kids have, but that was proven wrong pretty soon.
Age 6 - 11
Oisín continued education in Northern Ireland, until his Father got a chance to get a better paid job in the southern part of Ireland, sure, it wasn’t ideal for the kid who was starting the friendship circle, and living the childhood, but at the same time, he wasn’t fussed. They all moved when he hit 7 years old, enrolling into a new school and lived on a countryside farm. This allowed Oisín to help around the house more, his mother was able to grow her own produce, have animals, etc. While the father was just working in office for a corporation, not something he spoke about though to his family.
Oisín eventually turned 10, he was always into his education, had a small group of friends and lived a normal childhood life, nothing abnormal or traumatizing happened. Though he was different, he was still fixated on the whole crime aspect, but he was more fixated on how it happens, even his Mother would join in and help him solve random puzzles on it. A new bonding activity for the family.
Age 11-18
Oisín was now heading into the important part of his life, where education was critical. This is when he started focusing on school, studying but also making time for socialising. Though, things weren't as smooth as he expected. Once he had completed his Baseline grades and headed to college, he met his first partner but it lead to him disregarding his work, and his grades in college started dropping. He was focusing on Criminology and Criminal psychology, something he has always been interested in as a young child. The relationship ended badly which lead him to failing the first year of college, a large setback for him which resulted in Oisín re-taking the year of college, leading to him struggling more with his motivation to continue the degree but with the support of his parents and friends, he managed to push through and finish the college degree before progressing further onto university.
Age 18-20
Shortly after finishing college, he got a chance to start university in Japan and his parents got the chance to have a new job and lives as well, so they packed everything up in a few days and shipped what they needed to Japan and got the next flight they could to Japan to start their new life, moving into a house in the countryside and Oisín started doing University beginning his journey on criminology and starting a new job.
Two years into his degree, he was hired to a small area where a few people take certain cases from the PD and help them understand what went on in the brain to trigger the criminal psychology aspect of the crime, trying to narrow down the main causes and what could prevent these things, It was a small office in the town near his home and university.
Age 20- Current (27)
As time passed on for Oisín, he continued to work at the office and finish his degree, eventually passing with two Masters and a Bachelors degree in the areas he wished to work as since he was young, hoping to pursue the path of becoming a police officer or even just still working in the aspect of criminal psychology and understanding why criminals do what they do.
Though a few years into the job, Oisín turned 25 and started helping out with troubled children, they’d come in for sessions or just group fun. There was one person in particular that would be forced to come by their parents, always being unamused. She however, did always bring food and a grumpy attitude with her, over the years the group developed but Oisín and Hibiko's friendship developed, to the point Hibiko would come pretty much daily to his work and count him as his found family,
After some years, Hibiko eventually did move to Karakura, which meant that him and Hibiko didn’t see each other daily, but he continued to work and even tried to even do other hobbies before pursuing his career path he wanted, helping his parents during his free time and being apart of the community in Japan.
After a while, Oisín decided it’s time for another change, he left his parents in Japan in a nicer home than before and moved to Karakura to continue his adventures in life, and that’s where he stands currently to this day.

Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription
This has been updated, you can now currently without a prescription buy the following items; Aspirin, Paracetamol, Wooden Cane, Iron Supplements and Melatonin. There are many other medications that can be gathered without a prescription but these are the first five that come to mind.
If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
If Oisín saw his co-worker harming an inmate, it truly depends on the situation. But obviously the first thing is to assess the situation, tell the co-worker to step away from the inmate to see what actually led to the situation, the bodycam is always on so it would capture the whole scenario regardless, even if the words got twisted upon the report later on. Depending on how injured the inmate is, a medic will be called to KPD and a higher up of KPD will be radioed up to the cells for the co-worker to explain if the force was necessary. However, the first thing is to separate them and have extra backup with you in case it goes south.
What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?
Oisín would not approach the situation yet if there is more than 1 person attacking the co-worker, he would call for backup, diving head first into danger could not only put the co-worker at more risk of being hurt but also himself. He’d press the code-0 for his co-worker which sends a broadcast out to the other members to inform them that they require assistance and go from there. However, if it’s just one person vs the co-worker, from an angle he would attempt to stun the individual before following the procedures and making sure his co-worker is safe.
What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?
Corruption is obviously not allowed within himself or co-workers, if he were to catch my co-worker doing anything corrupt and helping a criminal organization, He would make sure to have the information/evidence gathered on my bodycam and not alert anyone over the radio in case of the said co-worker getting suspicious that they are being watched. He would grab the higher-up in the officer or make a report to go to them directly about the situation with the evidence and further monitor their movements for any extra evidence if necessary. His own safety is more important, so reporting it to a higher up/commissioner as soon as possible would be the priority.
How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?
At first Oisín would attempt to ignore the person who is attempting the bribe, if they were to continue, he would verbally warn them and inform them that bribing an officer is against the law and can lead to fines. If they continued even after the warning, Oisín would then fine them the correct amount or make them do community service as a result of their actions.
