19/12/2021 Tomochin Taikan Happy Saturday, everyone! Today marks the end of the sports tournaments hosted by Karakura’s highschool and community college. . . Three sports tournaments were held over the course of approximately a week, consisting of football, basketball and volleyball, all mixed genders. The first tournament, held on the eleventh was the most anticipated easily, that being the school’s football tournament. Before the tourney began, the respective cheerleading squads of both the Spartan and Bobcat sides of the school performed routines to cheer on their peers and to motivate the teams into doing their best. The first game played was Bobcat Males versus Spartan Males - and it was a clear victory for the younger team...
18/12/2021 Tomochin Taikan It’s Friday - and today I’ve got a brand new report for you about a brand new job. Last month we explored the ins and outs of being a Lawyer with Yuuka Ohikoa. . And today I have been lucky enough to get an interview with Yuzuki Taikan, who will tell us all about the academic side of things.. Being a tutor! TT: Would you mind introducing yourself to me? That’d be your name and your occupation YT: I’m a tutor. I’m 33 and I manage to sustain decent mental health whilst having to deal with children. Many. Many children. Some call me Yuzu, like the citrus fruit. TT: That’s so interesting, Yuzuki. Now.. How long have you been employed at the school? YT: Like.. a month and a half. Yeah. TT: Summarise your...
08/12/2021 Tomochin Uemara It’s Wednesday, guys! Two days ago, on the 6th of December - a random, and I mean VERY random ice skating competition was set up at the waterpark. A group of three designated judges, all from the community college and highschool by the looks of it, came together to host the competition for all members of the public. The competition occurred after school hours, in the rented out waterpark just before the beach. The ice had frozen over, and was deemed safe enough to be used as a skating rink just as it had been the year prior. A small fenced portion of the larger pool was the area of competition, and a few minor decorations were placed around the vicinity. It was fairly simple, with no distinct ruling system...
30/11/2021 Tomochin Uemara Happy final day of November, and happy final Tuesday! This report has come out early for all of you internet sleuths stalking the news branch, because we’re going to talk about all things winter and all things Christmas! It seems like Karakura has already adapted to the chilly season, and the festive season at that! Decorations have already been put outside of the Spartan Household and the Bowling Alley, two staples of the public school and community college’s rivalry. . . Tis’ the season to get INTERESTING! Today marks the third day of Hanukkah, which is celebrated by Jewish people worldwide! Japan has an extremely low population of those who practice Judaism, but that means nothing in Karakura for we’re...
29/11/2021 Tomochin Uemara Happy Monday, Karakura! My latest report has been belated, because I have been working on a special monthly feature. Before we jump in to this month’s issue, a quick rundown of “Karakura, Behind the Scenes!” is as so: Every month I will reach out to a member of the public, and pull them up for a chat about their job so all of YOU at home can get the latest scoop on future career paths. In this edition, we’re going to be going over the world of being a Laywer in Karakura, courtesy of none other than Yuuka Ohikoa, a government worker which has been a part of infamous cases such as the Sage Soda case and the Popovich vs. Herrington case. [ Karakura News has been given full consent to document this...
18/11/2021 Tomochin Uemara Happy Thursday, Karakura! With this latest academic news, it’s possible that Karakura may see a turning point in the quality of education, for the better! Over a short period of time in November, the local highschool and community college was being reviewed by a school inspector, sent by the education board directly from the mainland! Inspector Tsubasa Suetsugu was put up to the task of monitoring the school's not-so-brief history of problematic events. The inspector, in simple terms, monitored classes from both sides of the school - highschool and college, Bobcat and Spartan - along with interviewing employees from all fields within the school. . . Nurses, caretakers, teachers - you name it. This is...
10/11/2021 Tomochin Uemara Happy Wednesday, everyone! Today, I’m going to give you all the intel for all of the BEST and not-so-well-known places to hang out in Karakura - if you have a free day off work or school, you should definitely take a break and chill with some of your friends . . . Or even take that one person on a date! 1. The second pier! If you head over to Karakura’s very own beach and head all the way to the right, you will notice a few piers overlooking the deep deep blue! Whilst the dock itself has plenty of small shops, booths and souvenirs for you to pick from, the pier itself doesn’t get much recognition! Located on the 2nd of all 5 piers, there is a small booth set up by a local fisherman, who bears goods such...
03/11/2021 Tomochin Uemara Hello Karakura! Tomochin Uemara here, switching it up with what I'm known for. . some light-hearted news for you this week. My focus in this report will be horoscopes! Love them or hate them, believe them or do not . . . They exist! We have recently left October, stepping away from the Libras and into the age of the Scorpio! If you are a Scorpio, many sources say that your zodiac is extremely understood… But intuitive! You witty Scorpios know what you want and are not afraid to work for it! If they don’t blow your socks off, I do not know what will! So, what does this mean for Karakura? Perhaps we’re going to see some big changes in the city. It’s more than likely that this season will bring dominant and...
HALLOWEEN HOTLINE OCTOBER 27TH, 2021 Halloween is cutting closer! In less than a week, citizens of Karakura will be lined up at houses, collecting candy, partying, or even privately enjoying horror movies in the comfort of their own home. Decorations are coming up, pumpkins are being carved, and most importantly. . .costumes are coming together! However, that is arguably the most difficult part of the season. A handful of Karakura citizens were interviewed, but only _ have determined what ghostly look they’d be bearing on the 31st of October. With Halloween coming in just over a week, this is not something that can simply slide. In a scramble to find the perfect costume for this year, you might've found yourself skimming through...
AKIFUMI MITSUHIRA 10/23/21 [!] ALL TIMES ARE OOC Yesterday, on October 22nd, four Karakura High School and University students were brutally cut down by a group of individuals seen with cobras and snakes on their backs. Thankfully, the students were able to get to the hospital in time and none of them passed away. The students claimed the whole altercation started after about 8 or 9 “Mighty Stars” members surrounded a man outside the school football pitch and continuously slapped and hit the man’s head and neck. After multiple people from a third party told the Mighty Stars members to stop, the third party intervened and pulled the man out of the circle. Later that night 4 of the members that participated in the bullying were...
LORE POST [ Grayscale text and imagery presents itself on worn paper. Thin and fragile, the old age of this newspaper article was evident. Even older logos are thrown around! It’s certainly become worn; tears, crinkles, and all the more litter the page. While it was no ancient heirloom, it certainly hadn’t been from the current decade. Blurbs of a particular event take the front page. ] MASAMARU STATION SEPTEMBER 25TH, 2005 True tragedy struck within the crumbling Masamaru Station. Citizens familiar with the area recognized the station as “old”, boarding trains cautiously due to its faulty architecture. Unbeknownst to Karakura, this would have been its final hurrah. The ceiling above began to give out. A particular member of the...
10/10/2021 Tomochin Uemara Hello Karakura! This is Tomochin Uemara with some light-hearted news for you. Pretty blue summer skies and hot days have left us, and Autumn has rolled around the corner. We are in store for a season full of beautiful brown leaves and a tad bit of wind! That’s right, it’s officially time for Halloween -- and the pumpkin craze is just beginning. Starbucks locations in the mainland have re-introduced their Fall drink collections, including the infamous Pumpkin-Spice Latte. Before you even know it, we’ll all be carving out pumpkins for the 31st! So, what importance does Halloween actually have? Karakura has been influenced incredibly by western media and celebrations, with many properties already hanging up...
KARAKURA NEWS OCTOBER 2ND, 2021 ● ● ● With cooler temperatures moving in accompanied by the color-changing of the leaves, it’s safe to say autumn has finally found its way to Karakura this year! Though, the change of seasons was rather abrupt this year. In a matter of days, we went from hitting the beach, to sweater weather. You could always argue that it’s just in Karakura’s nature- literally! That being said, it's important that citizens of Karakura put in their all to adjust to these changes. Even while Karakura feels to be at a standstill more often than not, this season will serve as our reminder of change. Mostly literal change, that is. Crisp breezes, orange and crimson leaves, an abundance of pumpkins. . .and a sudden spike...
AKIFUMI MITSUHIRA SEPTEMBER 26TH, 2021 [TW] THIS REPORT CONTAINS DESCRIPTION OF VIOLENCE The Karakura Power Plant was set ablaze after a pipe failure, causing the mixture of gases and oil, eventually leading to an explosion after an evacuation alarm was set off at the power station today. Multiple reports have described hearing gunshots coming from inside the facility leading up to the alarm getting set off. What really happened inside the power plant? Multiple black cars could be seen driving to the entrance of the power plant along with Akihito Clan members trailing the black-out cars to the front gates. Upon entering the facility they are greeted with armed, masked men and women waiting for the Akihito members inside...
??? SEPTEMBER 10TH 2021 Summer in Karakura is coming to a steady end. Crisp, cool breezes blow away the heat and humidity of Japan’s summer, and we watch as our leaves begin to change color… Autumn is approaching Karakura, but summer has one more gift to give! While this week’s weather will be nothing out of the ordinary for the climate of Karakura, something out of this world awaits us later on! On the night of September 12th, a meteor shower will grace the skies. Keep your eye out for the diligoids -- a stretch of bright meteors that are only visible to Japan every 33 years. The best place to view the diligoid shower is from the Shinsei Senaru Monastery. Of course, if you’re unable to find seating for such a must-see event, it...
KIMITSU TOUHEI SEPTEMBER 7TH 2021 Only a few days after the occurrences within the courtroom, and even fewer days after the riot outbreak at the Karakura Police Department did more tragedy strike. If you wish to recall the previous events, you may do so here & here. THE FAMILY STORE NOW PROVIDES ISSUES OF THE LATEST NEWS ARTICLES. CHECK IT OUT!!! While the event happened some time ago, it makes none of what happened any less significant. Firstly. . .the Mayor’s speech. A group of college students sat silently outside town hall; peacefully, contrary to the last “protest”, or riot, as most citizens have dubbed it as. These college-aged individuals held signs, those of which presented their good intentions of gathering outside of...
06/09/2021 Tomochin Uemara Not long ago, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck Karakura - only adding to the series of unfortunate events in the past few weeks. It began with a drill inside the school, hosted by none other than Kurokawa Akihito and Ryuji Grey - SLT representatives of Karakura Highschool & Community College. The drill began with intercom instructions to the students, though soon spiralled out of control when warnings for a genuine earthquake was broadcasted live. Students were dismissed by faculty and emergency precautions were being taken in the city. An organisation known as the Akihito Clan were offering immediate support and resources to anyone harmed by the earthquake or in need of supplies. Relief packages were...
SEPTEMBER 5TH, 2021 AKIFUMI MITSUHIRA The underworld of Karakura is no special topic. Since this town was created, crime has been an everyday thing and an everyday problem for the citizens of Karakura. But not all of the Karakura underworld is necessarily bad, especially if you’re looking for an intense, action-packed night. Karakura’s fight club is a perfect example, ran by Sonoda Marihito. I ended up visiting the opening under the new owner, and I must say it is very fun to watch. The mixture of alcohol, violent fighting, and loud music is surprisingly appealing, but to be fair, what else would you expect from the average Karakuran. The fight club itself had a very interesting location, it's currently located in the sewers where...
AUGUST 31ST OTOSAKA SHOJIRO August 25th, a crowd had gathered outside of the police station, holding signs and pushing for justice with exactly four people in mind. Nicholei Popovich, Trey Allemburg, Raleigh Delgado and Preston Herrington; who shot them all dead and traumatized the entire city. They were, in specific, demanding for Nicholei’s justice after he had won the court case and been killed by the commissioner and his former colleague. The protest was peaceful for the most part. It was planned to be that way, just aggressive but also harmless marching around in the lobby of the police department with signs held up and an array of phrases to shout. It was nice, except for the part where it wasn’t. Suddenly, a throng of...
[ Man, what a formally written report… It’s almost boring and bland! C’mon, they can’t all be like this, right? ] BY KIMITSU TOUHEI AUGUST 23RD 2021 August 21st, 2021 marked the resignation of Karakura’s mayor, Suruga Sengoku, who ran her course shortly after Luke Herrington’s reign over the town. The events that unfolded before her resignation were nothing but devastating and witnessed as a whole by a percentage of Karakura’s population within the courtroom itself. Said events that occurred within the courtroom that day were as per result of the Myriad vs. Popovich case; In which freelance rapper Nicholei Popovich was unlawfully detained by police commissioner Preston Herrington. The details of the case implied that Popovich...
