What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
I have been on the server since 2020, meaning I have countless hours of experience within roleplay. I have been lucky enough to join many teams and factions over the years, giving me the opportunity to grow both my characters and my writing skills. I have been involved in all sorts of roleplay among the roles I have been lucky to have been in. This includes the KPD, sports teams, a member of the SLT, school employee, college professor, sports captain, and generic roleplay. It has been an enjoyable experience for sure.
What is your motivation for applying?
I have only applied once before, and that was in 2021, where I unfortunately didn’t stay for long. After working alongside them for a good few years whilst being in the KPD, I have been inspired to join the faction. I am interested to be involved in the different situations that happen involving both the police and the citizens itself - it is a great roleplay opportunity, for both growth and for lots of RP. I have been debating applying for the KPD, and decided that trying out a faction that has always been there to help in-character, was more attractive to me. All in all, I find that this role will suit my schedule, as well as the fact it’s quite roleplay-heavy. That’s definitely something I’ve missed.
Which role are you applying for?
Doctor
What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
I don’t have vast amounts of knowledge of the roles within the faction.
Though, being a member of the EMS team will absolutely help that.
Director: The director, obviously, is the lead of the hospital. They are in charge of running the hospital smoothly, making sure it is running as efficiently as possible. They are responsible for overseeing all the going ons in the hospital.
Leads: They are the ones in charge of their respective departments. They are the most educated and efficient in their specific fields, meaning they have the trust to be as efficient as possible.
Attending: The attending roles within the faction are the doctors and psychiatrists who are considered to be fully trained and who have completed their residencies. As far as I know, these are the individuals who also run training sessions for the new members of the faction.
Paramedics: The paramedics are there to attend situations that happen in the moment. They are on-call, and ready to hop in and aid the KPD and citizens as soon as they’re needed. They’re the on-scene helpers.
Doctors: This role means that these people are primed and ready to assist with patients at the hospital. They deal with all sorts of things, from traumatic injuries to a simple wound. They are there to help when needed.
Psychiatrist: These are the people who deal with the mental side of things. Need therapy? They’re here to help. To diagnose mental illnesses and disorders. They’re there to help and solve your mental health issues rather than physical.
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?
I acknowledge, and understand this

Lawrence Montgomery-Smythe was born on the 23rd of May, 1982. Having been bought up in the rather expensive borough of Kensington and Chelsea. His father, Spencer Montgomery-Smythe, being an owner of his own lawyer firm and his mother, the well-known singer Henrietta Langley, a world-famous singer from the 70s, could afford to live in such an upscale neighbourhood. Through his private education, Lawrence was a model student. Always on time to class, achieving great grades and playing the piano, he clearly had a bright future ahead of him. Inspired by his father, Lawrence was looking to go to university to study law.
During his final year of secondary at Westminster School in London, his life took a rather abrupt turn. October 5th, 1999. 8:06am, the train left Paddington Station on the way to Oxford to meet friends. 8:08am, the Ladbroke Grove rail crash. Seated at the rear of the front carriage, the then 17 year old Lawrence was subjected to the loss of his right eye and further injuries to his leg. This was a long, long year for the young man. A sudden accident that turned his view on life.
Inspired by the doctors who treated him, Lawrence decided to become a doctor. After being accepted into Cambridge to study biology, Lawrence was certain that it was his life’s devotion to give what he had been given. His life. Aged 21, he graduated with a degree in biology and moved on to study for his medical degree, lasting until aged 26. From then on, he worked in Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, moving up the ranks before switching over to the administrative side of things at age 39. He found his leg was getting too much of a nuisance to deal with the constant physical aspect of his job.
In the second year of his medical degree in 2004, aged 22, Lawrence met 19-year-old Frederick Brown whilst they both lived in Trinity College at Cambridge. Whilst Frederick was studying marine biology, they had met through the biology society. Through many social dinners, events and talks that Lawrence had done, their friendship had blossomed into something beautiful. The two got married in 2012, a few months after it had been legalised in the UK, and settled down in Cambridge which had held so many fond memories of their life together. In 2014, he was appointed the head of the LGBT network at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. In 2017, Lawrence published a book about his account of the train accident, and his life thereafter. It is called ‘Derailed’.
In April of 2025, after moving to Japan in January of the same year, Lawrence suffered an infarction in his left leg, specifically, his thigh. This resulted in muscle death which now causes Lawrence a significant amount of pain. Feeling a lot better despite the pain, Lawrence is as chirpy and posh as ever.
Go Larry!
SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?
Lawrence has a very good reason why he has specified his studies in emergency medicine. In 1999, his life was almost cut short at age 17 after being involved in a horrific rail accident near Paddington station in London. Inspired by the staff at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, who had taken him in and nursed him back to health, Lawrence has devoted his life to assisting those who got into situations such as his own. He originally wanted to be a lawyer for his father’s firm.
Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
Lawrence Brown has worked, since the age of 23, at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. He had proceeded through the ranks, before moving into administration. He had been in administration for a few years before moving to Japan. Now, in a new country, Lawrence wants to return to the physical side of working.

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?
Lawrence is a man who radiates respect and manners. Despite his shorter stature of 5’7, compared to the towering individuals of the city, his mannerisms are those of a giant. He is a gentleman, which his appearance complements. The trim beard, the heavy brows that cast a shadow over his singular eye, the sharp features, the wisps of silver in his hair, he’s exactly like an aged man of academia, but certainly wise. He always looks put together, walking around in his suits and formal-wear, Lawrence does look dapper. He walks with a pronounced limp, his injury supported by his trusty cane, though that doesn’t mean he can’t be limber and speedy when it’s needed.
Just give him a mo, and he’ll be there.
How does your character act around the hospital?
Lawrence is usually the friendly face that is a beacon of warmth to others. Wise words and advice is what Lawrence would be known for. A trustworthy friend and colleague. When he’s not got his head down in work, Lawrence is a good one to chat to. Either way, he remains professional. He’ll usually be seen nursing a cup of tea.
Does your character function better on their own or with others?
Lawrence has had many years of experience working with other people in working environments. This means he functions perfectly well with other people, and can do it for hours straight. Though, that doesn’t mean that he is strictly an extrovert. Like many, Lawrence does enjoy his quiet times; working things out, doing paperwork, thinking. And, if he’s in a bad mood, it’s usually best to leave him alone.
