Patch Notes • 3.51

As many of you already know we recently made the upgrade to 1.17 which offers a far more stable server & gameplay for everyone. Alongside the version change, we've also made a whole host of updates from animals to chat along the way which I'm sure many of you will enjoy. Note: We're working on getting Wardrobe & Vehicles working within the next few days.

Server Changes

Below is a list of implemented changes made to SchoolRP within the last month.

Updates

- We updated from 1.13.2 to 1.17.1 Minecraft, meaning you can use all of the new blocks & items in-game.

- You can use hexadecimal colour codes in chat (&#<value>).

- You can focus on a specific players in chat using /focus.

- Fishing has been reworked with new rewards and rarities; old rods no longer work.

- AFK detection has been improved, now appearing in your player description for other players if you're idle for longer than 10 minutes. Your grading and allowances will also pause when you're AFK.

- Baseball is in the beta phase and has been upgraded with new features & better detection.

- Players can now respond when staff send them direct messages by clicking '[Reply]'

- Items are now categorised by their type, e.g. 'Weapon', 'Miscellaneous', etc.

- Food, Drink & Alcohol items all have their statistics listed in the item lore.

- Vending machines now allow bulk purchases of food items.

- Players now automatically receive their Animal Whitelist upon purchasing it without the need of a role request.

- We added new Animal Whitelists: Bear, Fox & Bee.

- We added new variants to the Bird, Cat & Dog whitelists.

- We uploaded a Phones guide to our YouTube channel for new players.

- Players can no longer roll unnecessary amounts above 200.

- We added new roleplay lighting effects for the Nightclub, Events, and more.

- You can now read all of your phone notifications at once with a click of a button.

- Period 1 has been changed to become 'Study Time'.

- The 'Update Timeline' system has been abolished and replaced with 'Patch Notes'.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed the in-game settings star to include relevant information, it will no longer glitch into your inventory.

- Items should no longer randomly glitch upon adding new vehicles.

- Fixed ranks, prefixes and roles randomly disappearing.

- Phone commands can now be tab completed.

- Fixed /am command overwriting shoes.

- Fixed Lunchtime displaying incorrectly.

- Links are now clickable in chat.

- Fixed issues with /setage.

Faction & Community Changes

Below is a list of changes made to server factions within the last month by our faction leaders.

School Factions

- A new book has been added to the School's library.

- Examinations scheduled for the 26th of February.

- School Clubs have been capped at 10 clubs maximum.

- ALL School Club rooms have been moved to the second floor.

- Added additional Highschool Teacher slots for for English, Science and Performing Arts.

- Swim team slots were raised to 8 members for both Highschool & College teams.

- Track team slots were reduced to 8 members for both Highschool & College teams.

City Factions

- Police will now only confiscate bats if they have blood/unusual dents.

- Hospital Staff now have access to use breathalysers In-Character.

- There are now 3 attending (trainer) positions in each Hospital department.

- The Government's Town Hall has been completed re-made.

- Additional positions for Lawyer have been opened.

- Lawyers are now able to get involved when someone is detained by Police.

- An additional 2 positions for Shopkeeper will be filled by the end of the month.

- A new spray system in the Crime Discord will be rolled out within the next week.

Community & Staff Team

- 5 Event zones have been released (Train Station, Hot Springs, Gymnasium, Lighthouse & Powerplant).

- Folk Lore projects will be demonstrated through this month and March.

- Mxxkie has passed his trial period, and has been promoted to Moderator.

- rinis has been promoted to Administrator.

- glowss has been brought on as Trial Moderator.

INFORMATION
Myself and the development team have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare our systems for newer versions of Minecraft and we're proud to announce that we have upgraded all of our systems to be compatible with the latest versions of Minecraft; this also means we'll be able to update to future versions almost seamlessly without issues. Many updates for SchoolRP are still planned, if you have anything you'd like to see added, make a feedback post on our forums: https://schoolrp.net/feedback.

Duckings & I will be migrating the server to this version of Minecraft at 10:00AM GMT today (Sunday, 6th of February) and during this time you should expect the server to be down for a short while whilst we safely update all of our systems.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I connect on other versions of Minecraft?
Yes! Although we heavily recommend all players switch to 1.17 or above, we will still continue to support lower versions of Minecraft from 1.13 to 1.18.

Will I lose my items?
No, all of your items, money, apartments, etc. are safe.

Why are we updating?
SchoolRP is currently running 1.13.2 Minecraft; a version initially released in 2018. Although this version is somewhat stable, by moving to 1.17 we'll gain access to 200+ blocks as well as new mobs for new Animal Whitelists and plenty of awesome features we otherwise wouldn't have.

When are we updating?
Around 10:00AM GMT, Sunday the 6th of February.

What else is changing?
I'm glad you asked! As expected we'll have tons of brand-new items, features and blocks, but we've also included some other quality of life updates I'm sure you'll all be very pleased with, check them out below:

Players will be able to use Hexadecimal colour codes by doing &#<value>, e.g. &#FFFFFF (with Fundraiser or above).
Players can now fully action in chat, example: *Action1* Message *Action2* will properly format in chat.
Players can now receive languages properly whilst offline.
Players can now focus on other players chats by shift right-clicking or typing /focus <username> which will grey-out any non-focused chats, making it easier for you to roleplay.
We added the 'Mark all as read' button to phones notifications.
We'll have a brand-new fishing plugin which will be somewhat similar to the previous plugin.

UPDATE SUMMARY
New features, bug fixes & updates
13th January 2022

Happy new year, I'm proud to announce that we're starting 2022 off with our biggest update yet! Tons of brand-new features & updates have been added we work towards updating SchoolRP to 1.17.

SERVER UPDATES

- We have completely re-made our rulebook to include every rule the staff team are enforcing.

- Our housing plugin has been completely re-made with new features.

- Friends can now join you in apartment editmode.

- Editmode has been changed to a restricted Creative mode, allowing you to access more building materials.

- Your apartment can no longer be 'auto-extended'.

- Apartments now refund 25% of the remaining rent upon disown.

- The possibility to purchase houses has been re-added (houses are ¥250,000).

- Apartment reverse has been reworked and will no longer fill your inventory.

- Apartment buy signs include more information about the apartment prior to purchase.

- The group system & tab has been completely re-made.

- Age has been completely removed from nametags & has moved to player descriptions.

- Players no longer need to relog when having their role changed.

- Tab now includes how many more players are in each section.

- You can now include your character's biography in your description! (/setbio).

- Players now change their own age every 14 days by doing /setage, all groups have a minimum & maximum age available.

- The wardrobe plugin has been fixed & upgraded.

- Players can now safely save their skins without them resetting.

- Ranks above Famous Kid will receive up to 5 extra wardrobe slots.

- All in-game vehicles have been fixed.

- All cars & motorbikes are the same speed.

- Sirens are only available for emergency vehicles.

- Bicycles have access.

- In-game GUIs have been reworked to include useful information.

- Vending machine items include information about consumption speed & hunger.

- The setting star has been completely re-made and includes useful information for new players.

- Voting has been updated, using a far superior plugin.

- Votes no longer spam in-game chat.

- Voting rewards have been changed to be luck-based: 500-5,000 yen.

- NameMCVerify now offers players 7,500 yen to anyone that likes our server.

- The Omegakid rank has been changed.

- The prefix has been fixed to properly display the symbol.

- 35 emojis have been added to /emoji.

- The time system has been changed.

- Gates will no longer spawn in locations they aren't suppose to be in.

- Time now automatically speeds up on the weekends.

- Players can use /timespeed to see how fast the time is moving ICly & OOCly.

- Magenta Carpet (pillows) can be sat on similar to chairs via right-click.

- Trains are now more realistic, forcing you to wait 10 seconds before choosing a location to teleport to.

- The SchoolRP Logo has been made into an Icon form.

- The News Reporter faction has been re-made with better pay cheques to encourage more In-Character information being made available to players.

- All commands & sub-commands linked to specific groups/roles are now fully tab-able in chat (This is role-based, e.g. only police can tab police commands)

COMMUNITY TEAM UPDATES

- The Media-Team has started on their first project, nearing its completion.

SCHOOL FACTION UPDATES

- School Employees can automatically claim 8 reward tokens per month.

- Professors now use one channel to post all College Class bulletins.

- Teachers now use one channel to post all Highschool Class bulletins.

- The Teacher training has been altered slightly.

- The Spartan Household has been abolished and replaced with more housing.

- Sports teams can no longer host 'private try-outs' if they have 3 or more slots open.

- The Winter tournaments have been completed.

- New College Council presidents have been appointed.

- Clubs are now capped at 10 for both College & Highschool.

CITY FACTION UPDATES

- Taxes have been raised for some shopkeepers to 20% of sales depending on what type of store they own.

- Police no longer need to action to shoot when a target is active in motion.

- An Art contest was hosted in the Crime Discord for the community.

- Black Market Dealers must now complete a quota to stay within the faction.

- Government applications have been marked & applicants have been brought onto the team.

- Governors now have the job of documenting cases ICly within the log room.

- Death sentences given by the KPD must be authorised via court by an executive order.

- News Reporters now receive 'assignments' by the faction lead to promote more reports being made.

STAFF CHANGES
